It appears that work is on hold at 21-16 44th Drive, aka 21-18 44th Drive, a mixed-use property in Long Island City, Queens. Construction only reached the sixth floor and still has two more levels to go before topping out. Designed by C3D Architecture and developed by Amsterdam Hospitality, the project is slated to yield a mix of ground-floor retail space, 40 hotel rooms measuring around 250 square feet each, and 29 homes averaging just under 700 square feet apiece. YIMBY last reported on the project in August 2015, when permits were filed for its construction.

The two-tower 5Pointz complex is in the final stages of construction at 22-44 Jackson Avenue in Long Island CityQueens. Designed by HTO Architects and developed by G&M Realty, the 1.21-million-square-foot development stands on the site of the former 5Pointz warehouse, which was a mecca for graffiti and street art. Mojo Stumer Associates designed the buildings’ interiors, which will feature artistic homages to the site’s cultural past.

5-15 Queens Boulevard, aka Elm West, which now has an official website, is one of the newest mixed-use residential developments in Elmhurst, Queens. The seven-story, 230,000-square-foot edifice is located at the corner of Queens Boulevard and Broadway and stands directly across the street from its completed sibling, Elm East. Pi Capital Partners is the developer and Tan Architect is the designer.

The Cove’s Exterior Reaches Completion at 43-12 Hunter Street in Long Island City, Queens

Exterior work is finishing up on the Cove, an 18-story residential building at 43-12 Hunter Street in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Rockrose Development, the project will yield 123 rental apartments designed by Slade Architecture. Thirty-seven, or roughly 30 percent of the units, will be designated for affordable housing.
