Construction is finished at Urban36, a seven-story mixed-use residential complex at 36-10 31st Street in Dutch Kills, Queens. Designed by HCN Architects, the building yields 41 rental units ranging from studios to two-bedroom layouts with 13 designated as affordable housing. Maxie Development, LLC is listed as the owner of the property, which is located by the corner of 31st Street and 36th Avenue, and Modern Spaces is currently in charge of leasing and marketing at Urban36.

Lever House Completes $100 Million Renovation At 390 Park Avenue In Midtown East, Manhattan

Renovation work has concluded on Lever House, a landmarked 21-story International Style office tower at 390 Park Avenue in Midtown East. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and developed by WatermanClark, Brookfield Properties, Higgins Quasebarth & Partners, Integrated Conservation Resources, and Integrated Conservation Contracting, the project involved an overhaul of the ground-floor pedestrian plaza, main lobby, and ventilation and sustainability systems of the 307-foot-tall, 71-year-old structure, as well as the construction of new amenity spaces. Marmol Radziner was the interior designer and Pavarini McGovern was the general contractor for the property, which is located along Park Avenue between East 53rd and 54th Streets.

Demolition Underway For New 15-Story Jail Complex At 275 Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

Demolition work is underway at 275 Atlantic Avenue, the site of a 15-story jail complex in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by HOK and developed by the NYC Department of Design and Construction, the 339-foot-tall structure will span 712,150 square feet with a capacity of 1,040 inmates, as well as 30,000 square feet of community facility space, two cellar levels, two loading berths, 100 enclosed parking spaces, and an underground tunnel connecting to the adjacent courthouse. Northstar Contracting Group Inc. is the general contractor for the project, which will replace the defunct Brooklyn Detention Complex bound by Atlantic Avenue, Boerum Place, and Smith and State Streets.

126 East 57th Street Reaches Street Level In Midtown, Manhattan

Construction has reached street level at 126 East 57th Street, the site of a 28-story residential building on Billionaires’ Row in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by ODA Architecture , who is also in charge of the interior design, and developed by MRR Development under the MRR 1326 LLC, the 346-foot-tall structure will yield 147 condominium units spread across 170,000 square feet, as well as 5,000 square feet of lower-level retail space. WSP USA is the engineer and Plaza Buildings is the general contractor for the project, which is being constructed on an L-shaped parcel at the corner of East 56th Street and Lexington Avenue. A narrow panhandle section of the building’s footprint will extend north to East 57th Street.

Updated Plans Revealed for 231 East 94th Street Skyscraper on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Revised plans have been announced for 231 East 94th Street, an upcoming 46-story residential skyscraper in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by The Chapman Group, the 524-foot-tall structure will span 385,831 square feet and yield 452 units in studio- to two-bedroom layouts with 113 of the homes dedicated to affordable housing, as well as ground floor commercial and community facility spaces and a rear yard. The development will replace two low-rise parking garages, an auto repair shop, and a vacant five-story apartment building between Second and Third Avenues.

1299 Third Avenue Rises Past the Halfway Mark on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction has risen past the halfway mark on 1299 Third Avenue, a 33-story residential tower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Elad Group, which purchased the plot for $61 million in April 2022, the 420-foot-tall structure will yield 47 condominium units. Press Builders is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot facing Third Avenue with two small extensions to East 74th and East 75th Streets.

Stephen and Christine Schwarzman Animal Medical Center’s Expansion Progresses on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is steadily moving along on the Stephen and Christine Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, a ten-story veterinary hospital at 510 East 62nd Street in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Perkins + Will, the $100 million non-profit project will add 11,000 square feet to the existing 26,000-square-foot, 63-year-old structure. Turner Construction Company is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by the East 62nd Street to the north, East 61st Street to the south, FDR Drive to the east, and York Avenue to the west.

Renderings Revealed For 125 West 57th Street on Billionaires’ Row in Midtown, Manhattan

New renderings have been revealed for 125 West 57th Street, a 26-story commercial building rising along Billionaires’ Row in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners and Cain International, the 440-foot-tall structure will span 260,000 square feet and yield 185,000 square feet of Class A office space, 7,000 square feet of retail space, and an updated home for the Calvary Baptist Church, which has operated on the site since 1883 and sold the land to the developers in 2017 for $150 million. Leading Builders Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Sixth and Seventh Avenues between Christian de Portzamparc‘s One57 and SHoP Architects‘ 111 West 57th Street.

Superstructure Work Moves Ahead For The Orchard At 27-48 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

Work is steadily rising vertically at 27-48 Jackson Avenue, aka The Orchard, the site of a 69-story residential skyscraper that will become the future tallest structure in Long Island City and in all of Queens. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by Building Orchard LLC, the 811-foot-tall tower yield 635,000 square feet with 818 residential units, 11,700 square feet of retail space, and a two-story parking garage in the podium. Triton Construction Company is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 43-01 Queens Street and occupies a full city block along Jackson Avenue between Queens and Orchard Streets.

Construction Nears Completion On One High Line at 500 West 18th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Exterior work and façade installation is nearing completion at One High Line, a pair of twisting structures at 500 West 18th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by Witkoff Group and Access Industries, the 36- and 26-story structures will yield 900,000 square feet with 236 condominium units ranging from one- to five-bedroom layouts, a hotel component operated by Faena Hotel, ground-floor retail space, and a new landscaped public plaza. Suffolk Construction is the general contractor, Enzo Enea is the landscape architect, and Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is handling sales and marketing for the property, which is alternately addressed as 76 Eleventh Avenue and stands adjacent to the High Line on a trapezoidal plot bound by West 18th Street to the north, West 17th Street to the south, Tenth Avenue to the east, and West Street to the west.
