250 East 21st Street Finishes Construction in Gramercy Park, Manhattan

Construction is complete on 250 East 21st Street, a 13-story residential building in Gramercy Park, Manhattan. Designed by Issac & Stern Architects and developed by Urban Development Partners, the 145-foot-tall structure yields 54 condominium units in one- to four-bedroom layouts with interiors by Paris Forino. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing‘s Eklund Gomes Team is leading sales and marketing for the homes with prices ranging from $1.2 to more than $6 million. Ross Associates was the general contractor for the property, which is located at corner of East 21st Street and Second Avenue.

Tower 77’s Façade Wraps Up at 77 Commercial Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Exterior work is nearing completion on Tower 77, a two-tower residential development at 77 Commercial Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by CetraRuddy and developed by Clipper Equity, the architecturally identical 30- and 40-story towers will collectively yield 811,000 square feet and 520 rental units, with 200 designated for affordable housing. The 331- and 429-foot-tall reinforced concrete superstructures both sit atop a seven-story podium that will contain 25,000 square feet of retail space and a 300-vehicle below-grade parking garage. Ray Builders is the general contractor and Hatfield Group is the façade consultant for the property, which is located next to the Greenpoint Landing master plan near the intersection of Commercial and Box Streets.

Construction At PENN2 Continues At Two Penn Plaza in Midtown, Manhattan

Construction and expansion work continues at PENN 2, a 31-story commercial building at Two Penn Plaza in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by MdeAS Architects and developed by Vornado Realty Trust, the topped-out project involves the replacement of the 412-foot-tall tower’s outdated midcentury façade with a new glass curtain wall and set of light-colored metal paneling, a full gut renovation of its 1.61 million square feet of office space, new pocketed corner terraces, and a multi-story cantilevering volume along Seventh Avenue. GMSLLP is the façade consultant and Turner Construction Company and Skanska are the contractors for the property, which is located between West 31st and West 33rd Streets within the Penn District revitalization master plan.

Ray Harlem Rises At 2033 Fifth Avenue in East Harlem, Manhattan

Construction is in full swing for Ray Harlem at 2033 Fifth Avenue in the Special Arts District in East Harlem, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and Frida Escobedo, and developed by Ray and LMXD, the ground-up 21-story, 240-foot-tall mixed-use project will yield 222 rental units in the main tower ranging from studios to two-bedrooms, a portion of which are designated towards affordable housing, while the National Black Theatre (NBT) is expected to occupy 25,000 square feet of space on the ground floor, cellar level and floors three through five and feature a 250-seat flexible temple space and a 99-seat studio theater, classrooms, and offices. Little Wing Lee is the interior designer, Charcoalblue, Marvel Architects, and Studio & Projects are overseeing the theater aspect and Chatsworth Builders is listed at the general contractor for the property, which is located along Fifth Avenue between East 125th and East 126th Streets.

Construction is quickly moving along at 110 North 1st Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed and developed by EDRE Development, alongside Issac & Stern Architects and DXA Studio, the topped-out seven-story reinforced concrete superstructure will yield a total of 38 condominium units ranging from one- to two-bedroom layouts, garden-style residences, full-floor homes, and an exclusive set of penthouses. Target Construction is listed as the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Berry and Wythe Avenue.

228 Berry Street Nears Completion in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Construction is almost finished at 228 Berry Street, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Fischer Rasmussen Whitefield Architect and developed by Berry North LLC, the topped out eight-story, 85-foot-tall structure will yield a total of 35,329 square feet with 50 rental units spread across 34,825 square feet and an additional 504 square feet of ground-floor retail space. There will also be a cellar level containing 25 enclosed parking spaces, and 25 open-air parking spaces. Bluesky Builders is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by North 1st Street to the north, and Grand Street to the south, and Berry Street to the east.

North Brooklyn Community Boathouse Stands Topped Out At 51 Ash Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

The North Brooklyn Community Boathouse currently stands topped out at 51 Ash Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Jeffrey Kamen Architect and developed by a non-profit organization formerly known as the North Brooklyn Boat Club, the ground-up 60-foot-tall, five-story, 18,106-square-foot structure will feature a 9,856-square-foot hotel component with 11 rooms and an 8,250-square-foot community facility. Brooklyn Construction Group is the general contractor for the project, which is located on a narrow strip of land along Ash Street between Newtown Creek and the Pulaski Bridge.

Designed by Anthony Cucich Architect and developed by Polaris Investment One LLC, the ground-up five-story structure will yield a total of three residential units. NY Proconstruction Inc. is listed as the general contractor for the property, which is situated on an interior lot between Manhattan Avenue to the west and McGuinness Boulevard to the east.

Glass Exterior Facade Progresses Atop The Refinery At 292 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Construction is steadily moving along with the facade installation atop The Refinery, which has been historically known as the Domino Sugar Refinery that is currently undergoing a complete commercial conversion and expansion at 292 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU) and developed by Two Trees, the $250 million project involves a full gut renovation and construction of a 27,000-square-foot glass-clad barrel vault atop the parapet, bringing the 140-year-old building’s new height to 235 feet high. Dencityworks and Bonetti/Kozerski are the interior designers for the property, which is located along the East River waterfront between South 2nd and South 3rd Streets.

68 Commercial Street Rises in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

A small low-rise structure is being built at 68 Commercial Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Plans call for an expansion of the existing 25-foot-tall, 3,385-square-foot, one-story property into a 35-foot-tall, 6,213-square-foot, two-story building designed by Zrinsky Architecture PC and developed by Intercraft Developments Inc., yielding 1,520 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, a single residential unit on the second floor spanning 4,733 square feet, a 30-foot rear yard, and one enclosed parking space. Parsons Construction Inc. is the general contractor for 68 Commercial Street, which is rising from a 2,389-square-foot interior lot measuring only 70 feet wide and sits by the confluence of Box and Commercial Streets.
