Construction is rapidly ascending at 39 West 23rd Street, a 24-story, ground-up residential structure in the Flatiron District. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by Anbau Enterprises, the project consists of two towers, one along West 23rd Street and a second superstructure at the back of the property. A central landscaped courtyard will sit between each reinforced concrete building.
Construction is moving along on the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center at the World Trade Center. The future 130-foot-tall, marbled-cladded building is designed by Rex Architecture and developed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ). The site is located in the Financial District at the foot of One World Trade Center and Seven World Trade Center. The 9/11 Memorial is to the south of the property, while the plot of Two World Trade Center, aka 200 Greenwich Street, is found to the east across Greenwich Street.
Excavation work has commenced for 29th & 5th, Bjarke Ingels Group‘s proposed skyscraper at 3 West 29th Street in NoMad. Excavators, piling machines, and other construction equipment are in use at the site, which is located just five blocks south of the Empire State Building. Developed by HFZ Capital Group, the future 34-story, 551-foot-tall office tower will yield 300,000 square feet and incorporate shear glass walls and staggered outdoor terraces along the eastern elevation.
YIMBY recently checked in on the status of 45 Broad Street, where a CetraRuddy-designed supertall is slated to rise 1,115 feet above Lower Manhattan. The site of the Financial District project, which is being developed by Madison Equities and Pizzarotti LLC, appears primed for the beginning of construction.
Work on the brick curtain wall of Greenwich West, aka 110 Charlton Street, has made tremendous progress since YIMBY last reported about the status of the topped-out Hudson Square project in January. The upcoming 30-story residential building is designed by Loci Anima and Adamson Associates and developed by Strategic Capital, Cape Advisors, and Forum Absolute Capital Partners. Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is handling sales for Greenwich West’s 170 units.
