Exterior work is nearing completion on 2300 Cropsey Avenue, a 23-story mixed-use tower in GravesendBrooklyn. Designed by Michael Kang Architect and developed by Cropsey Partners LLC, the structure spans 329,522 square feet and will yield 154 rental units spread across 220,000 square feet, as well as an ambulatory center and a supermarket. Wave Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the intersection of Cropsey and 23rd Avenues, adjacent to the Belt Parkway.

Demolition Begins for 68-Story Skyscraper at 100 West 37th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Demolition is underway at 100 West 37th Street, the site of a 68-story mixed-use skyscraper in the Garment District of Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by C3D Architecture and developed by Sioni Group under the 989 Sixth Realty LLC, the 743-foot-tall structure will span 384,118 square feet and yield 300 condominium units spread across 297,301 square feet, as well as 86,817 square feet of commercial space and two cellar levels. Northeast Specialist Group is the demolition contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 989-993 Sixth Avenue and is located at the corner of Sixth Avenue and West 37th Street.

The Frick Collection’s Expansion Progresses at 1 East 70th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction has topped out on the expansion of The Frick Collection at 1 East 70th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Annabelle Selldorf of Selldorf Architects with Beyer Blinder Belle as the architect of record, the addition will add 18,000 square feet of museum space to the historic property, which first opened to the public in 1935 and is bound by Fifth Avenue, East 70th, and East 71st Streets. Sciame Construction is the general contractor for the $160 million project, which broke ground in May 2021 after gaining approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC). Kohler Ronan provided MEP/FP engineering services, as well as IT and security design services for the Frick Collection Expansion project.

Renovation Continues for Mount Sinai Surgical Innovation Center at 432 West 58th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on the Mount Sinai Comprehensive Center For Surgical Innovation (CCSI), an 11-story building at 432 West 58th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. The project involves the renovation and modernization of the 52-year-old, 172,000-square-foot structure, which the hospital purchased back from the Italian school La’Scuola d’Italia for $75.1 million in 2018 three years after parting with it for $55 million. Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is being carried out with the help of an $11.6 million grant from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). The property is located between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, directly across 58th Street from the hospital’s main campus.

Three-Tower Development at 2-20 and 2-21 Malt Drive Rises Above Hunters Point, Queens

Construction is rising on 2-20 and 2-21 Malt Drive, a three-tower development in the Hunters Point South master plan in Hunters Point, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by TF Cornerstone, the project consists of a 34-story, 390-foot-tall structure that will yield 575 units at 2-20 Malt Drive and a two-tower design at 2-21 Malt Dive composed of a 38-story, 440-foot-tall high-rise and a 25-story, 310-foot-tall building. A final unit count for 2-21 Malt Drive has yet to be announced. Bud North LLC and Bud South LLC are the general contractors for 2-21 and 2-20 Malt Drive, respectively, which will rise from a subdivided plot bound by 54th Avenue to the north, Newton Creek to the south, and 2nd Street to the west.
