More than half a million revelers from around the city and across the world gathered at Rockefeller Center’s iconic plaza yesterday, braving cold temperatures to watch the annual Christmas Tree Lighting extravaganza. New York YIMBY captured the iconic New York celebration, which is currently in its 87th year. Jerry Speyer and Rob Speyer of Tishman Speyer, along with Mayor Bill DeBlasio, lit up the iconic tree just before 10:00pm last night.

Foundation Work Continues at FXCollaborative’s 601 West 29th Street in Hudson Yards

Work is continuing on the pilings for 601 West 29th Street, the site of a 695-foot-tall residential skyscraper and the 28th tallest building currently under construction in New York City. Located at the corner of West 29th Street and Eleventh Avenue on the border of Hudson Yards and the rising High Line-adjacent developments of West Chelsea, the project is designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Douglaston Development. The 58-story structure is also known as Tower A in a two-building development on the rectangular parcel.

One Seaport’s Glass Curtain Steadily Rising in the Financial District

The 29th building in YIMBY’s construction countdown is One Seaport, aka 161 Maiden Lane. The reflective glass envelope is steadily climbing up the topped-out Financial District skyscraper. The 200,000-square-foot, 60-story, reinforced concrete tower is designed by Hill West Architects and being developed by Fortis Property Group LLC. Ray Builders is the current contractor for the project, while Groves & Co is serving as the interior designer. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is handling sales of the units.

Construction Wraps on 80 East 10th Street in the East Village

Construction has wrapped up on 80 East 10th Street, a 26,000-square-foot mixed-use building in the East Village. The ten-story mixed-use building is designed by NAVA Companies and developed by Parametric Development Group. Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing is responsible for sales of the 12 condominiums, which include a five-bedroom spread. Each home averages 2,000 square feet and range from $4.15 to $8.25 million. Cushman & Wakefield is marketing the ground-floor retail space, which has yet to find a tenant.

200 Amsterdam Avenue’s Façade Installation Progresses on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

The construction crane at 200 Amsterdam Avenue has been fully disassembled and taken down. The topped-out residential skyscraper stands 668 feet high above the Upper West Side and is the 30th structure in our countdown of the tallest projects under construction in New York City. The 51-story building, which is designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and developed by SJP Properties, stands as the tallest structure in the upper Manhattan neighborhood. CetraRuddy is the lead interior designer for the 283,000-square-foot project.
