YIMBY checked in on the progress made on NYU‘s expansion located at 181 Mercer Street in Greenwich VillageDavis Brody Bond and KieranTimberlake are the designers of the full-block, 23-story, 750,000-square-foot structure, which sits along Houston Street directly to the east of I. M. Pei’s three-tower University Village complex. 181 Mercer Street is bound by Houston Street to the south, Mercer Street to the east, and Bleecker Street to the north.

11-19 Jane Street Wraps Up Construction In the West Village

The earth-toned brick masonry facade and grid of large square and narrow windows that make up the main southern elevation of 11-19 Jane Street is now complete, while work on the interiors should likely be wrapping up. Located in the Manhattan neighborhood of the West Village, the topped-out mixed-use residential and commercial project will soon debut as a 31,000-square-foot structure designed by London-based design firm David Chipperfield Architects, and developed by Edward Minskoff of Minskoff Equities. There will be a total of seven residential units inside, averaging 2,382 square feet each. The site is located between Greenwich Avenue and Eighth Avenue and is one street below Jackson Square Park.

185 Broadway Steadily Climbing Above Financial District

185 Broadway has been vertically progressing over the lower stretch of Broadway and the surrounding Financial District neighborhood. The 31-story mixed-use superstructure is designed by FXCollaborative and developed by SL Green, and is slated to open as a 404-foot tall, 260,000-square-foot development. The site is located next to the western entrance to the Fulton Street station and is one street away from the World Trade Center.

Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center Quickly Rising in the Financial District

The cubic structure of the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center is continuing to take shape in the Financial District. Designed by REX and developed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect, the 138-foot-tall structure is located in the World Trade Center complex at the foot of One World Trade. A lot of progress has occurred since our last update in early February, when the steel trusses that form the bottom portion of the superstructure were just being assembled. Now work has climbed well above with the formation of the multi-story perimeter of V-shaped columns. This section of the building will be enclosed in the white marble façade.
