Now that 111 West 57th Street is above the floors complicated by the adjacent Steinway Building, which is being integrated into the base of the supertall, the future 1,428-foot-tall tower is shooting upwards. The latest photos of progress come from Streetscaper and Tectonic, and besides new floors being added on a weekly basis, the exterior of the tower is now receiving its terracotta and bronze facade.

The site of the old Mercedes dealership at 520 West 41st Street has seen several prospective designs covered by YIMBY over the years, including a pair of connected skyscrapers that generated a substantial amount of buzz. Now, permits have finally been filed with the Department of Buildings for the site’s residential tower, which will rise 57 floors and 723 feet to its rooftop.

Hudson Yards has been making headlines in recent months thanks to the substantial progress of Related’s development over and surrounding the Eastern Railyards, which is now yielding a forest of skyscrapers. But immediately to the northwest, another tower that’s been in the making for an equally long period of time may have just received a boost to become the tallest of them all. A new rendering of the Moinian Group’s 3 Hudson Boulevard has surfaced, showing both an updated design for the building itself, as well as the addition of a 300-foot spire, that would make the supertall the tallest in the neighborhood.
