Foundation Work Begins for 29th & 5th, BIG’s Office Skyscraper at 3 West 29th Street in NoMad

Excavation work has commenced for 29th & 5th, Bjarke Ingels Group‘s proposed skyscraper at 3 West 29th Street in NoMad. Excavators, piling machines, and other construction equipment are in use at the site, which is located just five blocks south of the Empire State Building. Developed by HFZ Capital Group, the future 34-story, 551-foot-tall office tower will yield 300,000 square feet and incorporate shear glass walls and staggered outdoor terraces along the eastern elevation.

Largest Demolition In NYC’s History Gaining Steam at JPMorgan Chase’s 270 Park Avenue, in Midtown East

The demolition of 270 Park Avenue is progressing in Midtown East, as new scaffolding and netting have been installed on the exterior of the Modernist-style skyscraper. These join the construction elevator and sidewalk scaffolding that were assembled several months ago on the 1.5-million-square-foot, 52-story tower. JPMorgan Chase is the developer and Foster + Partners Architects is the design firm for the upcoming 57-story supertall that will rise in its place. Adamson Associates is listed as the architect of record.

Rose Hill’s Art Deco-Inspired Façade Installation Begins at 30 East 29th Street in NoMad

Installation of the dark-colored curtain wall panels has begun at Rose Hill, aka 30 East 29th Street, in NoMad. The Art Deco-inspired envelope now covers the podium and first residential floors of the future 45-story skyscraper, which is located between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by Rockefeller Group, the tower will stand 639 feet tall and become one of the most prominent structures in the neighborhood. CORE is managing sales and the marketing of the units.
