Glass Curtain Installation Begins on Tiffany & Co.’s Expansion in Midtown, Manhattan

Installation of the wavy glass curtain wall has begun on the steel-framed addition atop Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store at 727 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by OMA partners Shohei Shigematsu and Jake Forster, the project involves a three-story addition over the original roof line of the 71-year-old Art Moderne building, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. CallisonRTKL is the architect of record and Peter Marino Architects is handling the interior renovations for the iconic jewelry store. Tiffany & Co. temporarily relocated its flagship to an adjacent storefront at 6 East 57th Street during construction.

Demo Permits Filed for Rolex Building at 665 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

Demolition permits have been filed for the 12-story commercial building that houses the flagship Rolex at 665 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. Owned by the Rolex Realty Company LLC, the 11,050-square-foot site will soon house the Rolex headquarters in a 25-story tower designed by David Chipperfield Architects.

Marx Realty Inks 10,000-Square-Foot Lease with Snow Phipps at 545 Madison Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

Private equity firm Snow Phipps is the latest company to join 545 Madison Avenue, a newly renovated office tower in Midtown, Manhattan. Marx Realty, the property owner, worked with Studios Architecture to complete the building’s transformation, which focused on elevating the hospitality aspects of the commercial property.

Full demolition permits have been filed for 35 West 57th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues along Billionaires’ Row, the 2,510-square-foot site is occupied by a five-story mixed-use building. Built in 1891, the mansion with Beaux Arts details was a wedding gift to the granddaughter of William Vanderbilt. The 65-foot-tall structure is currently owned by Solow Realty and Development.

605-foot Office Tower by SOM Revealed for 415 Madison Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan

An Environmental Assessment Statement reveals plans for a 40-story tower designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill at 415 Madison Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan. The applicant 415 Madison Avenue LLC is seeking special permits as part of the ULURP process to construct a 605-foot-tall commercial building on the northeast corner of Madison Avenue and East 48th Street. Rudin Management currently owns the site, which houses a 24-story structure yielding 270,000 square feet of boutique office space. It opened in 1955 and has floor plates ranging from 5,000 to 15,000 square feet.

$1.25B Financing Package Secured to Complete Terminal Warehouse Redevelopment in Chelsea, Manhattan

L&L Holding Company and Columbia Property Trust have successfully closed on $1.25 billion in construction financing to complete a commercial overhaul of Terminal Warehouse in Chelsea, Manhattan. Led by COOKFOX Architects, the property will eventually house a mix of Class A office suites, retail space, and dining area.

Lenders Confirm $183M Financing Package for 258-278 Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan

Square Mile Capital and Pacific Western Bank are set to provide $183 million in construction financing for a 12-story mixed-use property at 258-278 Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan. A new Target retail store will occupy 28,000 square feet of the building’s lower levels. Above these floors, the development will house 190 rental apartments and associated amenities.

SOM Reveals Restoration Plans for the Historic Lever House at 390 Park Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

The Landmarks Preservation Commission is now reviewing proposals from Skidmore, Owings & Merrill to renovate and restore the historic Lever House at 390 Park Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan. Scope of work for the proposed alterations includes replacement of non-original plaza paving and bases, the installation of new signage and stainless steel doors, a new entrance into the Casa Lever restaurant on the ground floor, and the replacement of aluminum panelling and glass storefronts at the ground floor. The design team will also restore exterior stone, metal, and ceiling materials around the property.

517-523 West 29th Street Nears Completion in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on 517 West 29th Street, a ten-story residential building in Chelsea. Developed by Churchill Real Estate Holdings and designed by Ben Hansen Architect with Rand Engineering and Architecture as the architect of record, the 135-foot-tall structure yields 56,160 square feet with 60 condominium units and nine private outdoor parking spaces. The Midtown, Manhattan project stands between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues near the High Line and Hudson Yards.

Sales Launch for Office Condo Property at 35 West 36th Street in Herald Square, Manhattan
