Macy’s-Topping Skyscraper By FXCollaborative Revealed, in Midtown Manhattan

Macy’s Inc. is pursuing plans to build an office tower over its block-long flagship store in Herald Square, Midtown. Proposals include upward of one million square feet of office space, a sky lobby with views of the city, and public improvements to the surrounding open spaces and subway stations. Today, YIMBY has the reveal for the tower, which was posted by forum users after being spotted within a Macy’s release this week, which showcase the skyscraper as it would stand atop the iconic Midtown retailer.

Construction Tops Out on Maverick at 215 West 28th Street in Chelsea

Construction has topped out on Maverick, a two-building, 210-foot-tall residential project at 215 West 28th Street in Chelsea. Located between Seventh Avenue and Eighth Avenue, the 20-story development is designed by DXA Architects and being developed by HAP Investments, and consists of abutting buildings spanning over 300,000 square feet. The structurally identical reinforced concrete superstructures are addressed as 215-219 West 28th Street and 221-229 West 28th Street.

Rose Hill’s Curtain Wall Continues to Rise at 30 East 29th Street in NoMad

Work is moving along on Rose Hill, where the majority of the curtain wall has been installed on the northern elevation of the NoMad residential skyscraper. Only the upper floors, crown, and ground floor have yet to be enclosed in the tower’s signature Art Deco-inspired finish. Located at 30 East 29th Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue, Rose Hill stands 639 feet tall and will yield 123 condominiums marketed by CORE Real Estate. The 45-story building is designed by CetraRuddy Architecture for Rockefeller Group.
