Exterior Work Nears Completion on Aloft Hotel at 450 Eleventh Avenue in Hudson Yards, Manhattan
Leading off the top ten on our annual countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in New York is 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 642-foot-tall Aloft Hotel in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 51-story skyscraper will yield 379 guest rooms and amenities including a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace. Atria Builders is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.
606 West 30th Street Wraps Up Construction in West Chelsea, Manhattan
Construction wraps up on 606 West 30th Street, a 42-story residential skyscraper along the border of Hudson Yards and West Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Lalezarian Properties, the 545-foot-tall structure spans 312,350 square feet with 192,780 square feet of residential space and 14,240 square feet of commercial space on the lower levels. The tower is also known as Tower B in a two-skyscraper development along with the taller 3ELEVEN from FXCollaborative and Douglaston Development at 601 West 29th Street, which is already complete. Hudson 37 LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Eleventh Avenue and West Street, directly across from the third phase of the High Line.
550 Tenth Avenue Tops Out in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan
At number 15 on our year-end countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in New York is 550 Tenth Avenue, a 520-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization and Goldman Sachs Asset Management JV, the 47-story structure will span 430,000 square feet and yield 453 rental units, with 137 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 9,000 square feet of lower-level retail space, over 20,000 square feet of amenities, and 26,764 square feet of administrative office space for Covenant House. GO Covenant LLC is the owner and Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located along Tenth Avenue between West 40th and 41st Streets.
58 West 39th Street Resumes Construction in Midtown, Manhattan
The 20th-tallest building on our year-end construction countdown is 58 West 39th Street, a 475-foot-tall hotel tower in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Marin Architects and developed by Wei Hong Hu of H Hotel LLC, the 42-story structure will yield 177 guest rooms and amenities including a restaurant and an outdoor bar. City Cross Construction Corp. is the general contractor for the property, which is located on a narrow plot between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, one block below Bryant Park.
