Foundation Work Making Headway For Moinian’s 3 Hudson Boulevard, in Hudson Yards

Situated immediately to the north of Hudson Yards’ first phase, 3 Hudson Boulevard sits at the corner of West 34th Street and Eleventh Avenue. Seen through the crowded perimeter of trailers, trucks, and mechanical equipment, one can get a small glimpse at the amount of progress the site has made since excavation officially began about one year ago. The tower is currently the 14th-tallest skyscraper under construction in New York City, and will rise 53 floors and 940 feet to its rooftop when complete. FXCollaborative is the designer, while the Moinian Group is the developer of the two million square foot project.

Glass Wraps for 88-Story 15 Hudson Yards As Opening Day Rapidly Approaches

Rising on the southwestern corner of Phase I at Hudson Yards, 15 Hudson Yards is wrapping up its glass exterior work, while interiors are getting ready for opening day this coming spring. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Rockwell Group, and Ismael Leyva Architects, the tower stands 88 floors, and ranks as the 15th-tallest skyscraper under construction in New York City. It is being developed by Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group.

Tishman Speyer Announces Transformative Renovation of MetLife Building’s Lobby at 200 Park Avenue, in Midtown East

Manhattan’s iconic MetLife Building will soon undergo a major renovation of ground floor lobby areas, including the reinstatement of a long-shuttered connection to Grand Central Terminal. Tishman Speyer, the building’s current owner, has commissioned MdeAs Architect to reimagine the space.

10-Story Commercial Building Coming to 118 10th Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan

New construction permits have been filed for a 10-story commercial building at 118 10th Avenue, in Chelsea, Manhattan. Located between 17th and 18th Streets on the far West Side, the site is close to the West Side Highway, as well as the High Line. Brandon Klein of the Real Estate Executive Council is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Permited Filed for 120 West 17th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 120 West 17th Street, in Chelsea, Manhattan, that will contain both residential space and a community facility. Located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, the interior site is one block south of the 18th Street subway station, serviced by the 1 train. It is also three blocks north of the 14th Street station, serviced by the F, M and L trains. Yaniv Garbo of GB Properties LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Norman Foster’s 425 Park Avenue Officially Tops Out 897 Feet Atop Midtown East, Manhattan

425 Park Avenue held its official topping-out ceremony on December 3, 2018. Its architect Lord Norman Foster, head of Foster + Partners, along with several keynote speakers including David Levinson of L&L Holding Company LLC and Masaoki Kanematsu of Tokyu Land Corporation spoke at the reception, held on the 20th floor of the the building’s first and largest tiered setback. The 41-story, 897-foot tall building is the 17th-tallest building under construction in New York City, and has grown out of the old remains of the original structure that formerly stood on site. The un-demolished section is being repurposed as part of Midtown’s first new full-block office skyscraper in over 50 years. The tower is being developed by L&L Holding Company LLC while Adamson Associates is the architect of record.

Pelli Clarke Pelli-Designed 138 East 50th Street Nears Full Completion in Midtown East, Manhattan

Topping out just over a year ago, 138 East 50th Street is now the 19th-tallest skyscraper under construction in New York City. Standing 803 feet to its rooftop, the project is being designed by Pelli Clarke-Pelli and developed by Ceruzzi Properties, while SLCE Architects is the architect of record. Inside, there are 124 condominiums spread among 63 floors, covering a total scope of over 253,000 square feet. Each unit will average around 1,700 square feet. The site is located between Third and Lexington Avenue, in Midtown East.

New Rendering Reveal for ODA-Designed 531 Sixth Avenue, in Chelsea

New renderings of 531-539 Sixth Avenue show changes to the facade of the residential development, designed by ODA. Compared to renderings released in July 2018, the structure’s facade will now incorporate black and grey metal elements.

Robert A. M. Stern’s 520 Park Avenue Nearly Complete on the Upper East Side

Situated to the east of the Sherry Netherland, between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue, 520 Park Avenue, aka 45 East 60th Street, is now receiving its finishing touches. The 64-story and 781-foot-tall residential tower was designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects, and contains 33 condominiums across nearly 178,000 square feet, averaging around 5,400 square feet apiece. The site sits in Lenox Hill on the Upper East Side, along East 60th Street. Zeckendorf Development, Park Sixty LLC, and Global Holdings Inc. are the developers while SLCE Architects serves as the architect of record. The skyscraper is the 21st-tallest tower currently under construction across the Five Boroughs, and the tallest on the Upper East Side.

Snøhetta and the Olayan Group Return to LPC with Scaled-Back Proposal for 550 Madison’s Renovation
