East Midtown Greenway Nears Completion Along the Sutton Place Waterfront in Midtown, Manhattan

Work is closing in on completion on the East Midtown Greenway, a 1.8-acre public promenade along the East River waterfront in Turtle Bay. Designed by Stantec, the 2,000-foot-long plaza runs from East 53rd to 61st Streets and is the second phase of the three-segment East Midtown Waterfront Esplanade, which will eventually stretch down to East 38th Street with recreation space for pedestrians and bicyclists. The $100 million project is located to the east of the FDR Drive and will also include a new park entrance at East 60th Street, a pedestrian bridge, and the revamping of Andrew Haswell Green Park and the Alice Aycock Pavilion.

Demolition Begins for 68-Story Skyscraper at 100 West 37th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Demolition is underway at 100 West 37th Street, the site of a 68-story mixed-use skyscraper in the Garment District of Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by C3D Architecture and developed by Sioni Group under the 989 Sixth Realty LLC, the 743-foot-tall structure will span 384,118 square feet and yield 300 condominium units spread across 297,301 square feet, as well as 86,817 square feet of commercial space and two cellar levels. Northeast Specialist Group is the demolition contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 989-993 Sixth Avenue and is located at the corner of Sixth Avenue and West 37th Street.

Construction is complete on 300 West 30th Street, a 16-story residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by Studio C Architects and developed by Hiwin USA, the structure yields 69 condominium units in studio to two-bedroom layouts, as well as ground-floor retail space. Workshop/APD was the interior designer, Efin Management Corporation was the general contractor, and Corcoran New Development is handling sales and marketing for the property, which is located at the corner of West 30th Street and Eighth Avenue, a short walk from Madison Square Garden, Penn Station, and Moynihan Train Hall.
