Vornado’s Supertall 350 Park Avenue Fully Revealed, Expected To Rise Nearly 1,500′ To Pinnacle

Amidst the ongoing evolution of the Manhattan skyline, one of the most notable recent changes has been the completion of the Midtown East rezoning, which has already resulted in the rise of One Vanderbilt. Now, with 270 Park Avenue and other projects already on the development boards, Vornado and Rudin Management’s plans for 350 Park Avenue have been fully revealed, depicting yet another supertall that would rise almost 1,500 feet to its pinnacle. While the architect has not been confirmed, YIMBY is strongly suspicious that the design is by Foster + Partners, the firm responsible for the nearly-complete 425 Park Avenue.

New lobby are at 10 Grand Central - Marx Realty

Commercial developer Marx Realty has returned with the first completed images of its newly branded office tower at 10 Grand Central. The $45 million project entails a redesign and repositioning of the building’s lobby away from its original 44th Street location to provide more immediate access to Grand Central Terminal.

Thomas Heatherwick’s Sculptural Windows Going Up at 515 West 18th Street, in Chelsea

The first sculptural glass panels on Thomas Heatherwick’s premiere residential project at 515 West 18th Street are starting to be installed. The glass and metal frames are rising on the western elevation of the shorter ten-story building, which has topped out along Tenth Avenue. Heatherwick’s pair of architecturally matching structures straddle the High Line and will be an interesting addition to the Chelsea neighborhood. The taller half of the complex is rising on the western edge of the elevated park and will soon stand 22 stories high. The site is being developed by Related Companies.

111 West 57th Street’s Super-Slender Concrete Formwork Officially Tops Out Atop Billionaires’ Row, in Midtown

Construction at 111 West 57th Street has reached a major milestone. The reinforced concrete superstructure for the second tallest building in New York City by roof height and the world’s most slender residential building is now topped out. The future 1,428-foot tall tower is being designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, Property Markets Group and Spruce Capital Partners. Douglas Elliman is handling sales and marketing for the 46 condominiums.

New Renderings Released of Alvaro Siza’s Condo Tower at 611 West 56th Street, in Hell’s Kitchen

New renderings have been released for the upcoming 37-story condominium tower 611 West 56th Street, aka 823 Eleventh Avenue. The first project in the United States for Portuguese architect Alvaro Size, the white limestone-clad structure will rise 440 feet tall and contain 80 units. The rectangular site is located at the corner of West 56th Street and Eleventh Avenue and is being developed by Sumaida + Khurana and LENY.

500 West 25th Street Tops Out Next to High Line, in Chelsea

Construction at 500 West 25th Street is now topped out and the installation of glass panels in the curtain wall is almost complete. GF55 Partners is the architect of record for the ten-story building while GDS Development is the developer. The site is located next to the High Line at the corner of West 25th Street and Tenth Avenue.

Ceruzzi Properties Launches Sales at The Centrale in Midtown East, Manhattan

Ceruzzi Properties has officially launched sales at The Centrale, a new 71-story condominium building designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli with executive architects SLCE. Located at 138 East 50th Street, the structure towers 800 feet above Midtown East, Manhattan and contains 124 residential units.

YIMBY Takes in the Rising Skyline From Atop 53 West 53rd Street, in Midtown

YIMBY recently went on a hard hat tour of the upper floors of Jean Nouvel’s 53 West 53rd Street residential skyscraper. The uniquely tapered diagrid structure is topped out at 1,050 feet with the façade almost entirely installed. The supertall is being developed by Hines, while SLCE Architects and Adamson Associates are the architects of record. The condominiums are being marketed by Corcoran Sunshine.

New proposals, dated April 16, 2019, are arranged by CetraRuddy Architecture in collaboration with preservation consultants Higgins Quasebarth and engineering consultants Walter P. Moore.

Art Deco-Inspired Rose Hill Begins Ascent at 30 East 29th Street in NoMad

Construction on 30 East 29th Street, aka Rose Hill, is moving along quickly in NoMad. Work on the foundations wrapped up in January and now the upcoming 639-foot-tall structure is several floors above street level. The upcoming 49-story project is located between Park Avenue South and Madison Avenue and is being designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by the Rockefeller Group. The residential high-rise will incorporate an Art Deco-inspired design, setting it apart from other neighboring towers rising in the development boom, responsible for changing the skyline south of the Empire State Building.
