The Jardim at 527 West 27th Street Nearing Completion in Chelsea

The Jardim at 527 West 27th Street is an upcoming 11-story residential complex in Chelsea. It stands adjacent to Zaha Hadid’s 520 West 28th Street project. The new property has already topped out and almost all the exterior work is finished, with only minor touches awaiting completion on the ground level and top floors. Meanwhile, the interiors of the 36 units are being fitted out, each averaging 2,500 square feet. The 90,000-square-foot undertaking is being designed by Isay Weinfeld and developed by Centaur Properties and Pizzarotti.

Hudson Yards’ Shops, Restaurants, and Thomas Heatherwick’s Iconic Sculpture Officially Open To The Public

At noon today, New York’s newest neighborhood will ceremonially open for business. Hudson Yards‘ first public-facing attractions—the Shops & Restaurants and Thomas Heatherwick’s interactive sculpture Vessel—will welcome the crowds that have watched patiently from afar as the project’s soaring, glass-sheathed towers have transformed the skyline. Elkus Manfredi Architects is the designer of the seven-story retail center, of which Neiman Marcus is the anchor tenant. The city’s largest indoor shopping mall with more than 100 stores, it features 720,000 leasable square feet with nearly 85 percent of the space already occupied.

Ian Schrager Debuts Immersive Digital Art On 20 Times Square’s Wraparound LED Billboard

Developer and entrepreneur Ian Schrager has commissioned two public art projects that have debuted at 20 Times Square, aka 701 Seventh Avenue. The site is home of the EDITION, a newly opened high-end hotel and is one of the newest buildings to be built at the crossroads of the world. The building is also home to one of the largest LED screens in the world. The billboard art is being curated by multimedia design studio Sila Sveta. One of the videos will show an interactive robotic installation that pays homage to Alexander McQueens’ Spring runway show from 1999. The LED board is located on the lower floors of the hotel which sits at the northeastern corner of West 47th Street and Seventh Avenue.

YIMBY Scopes Rooftop Views From The XI With Bjarke Ingels At Topping-Out Ceremony

On the heels of the topping-out of The XI’s second tower, YIMBY attended the official ceremony for the milestone hosted by the project’s architect Bjarke Ingels, offering a first look at the sweeping views from the top of the complex. The 908,250-square-foot development stands next to the High Line in Chelsea and is now the tallest set of buildings in the neighborhood. The first 30-story skyscraper sitting closer to the Hudson River reached the 402-foot-tall roof parapet last year. The shorter 20-story, 300-foot-tall sibling climbed to its pinnacle just a couple weeks ago. HFZ Capital Group is the developer of the project. Omnibuild is in charge of constructing this new icon for New York City.

New Senior Housing Facility at 139 East 56th Street Tops Out in Midtown Manhattan

139 East 56th Street, aka 677-681 Lexington Avenue, recently topped out 17 stories above Midtown. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Hines and Welltower, the new senior-housing facility is called “Sunrise” and is located at the corner of East 56th Street and Lexington Avenue. Facade installation at ground level has also commenced. The two developers previously paid $115 million for the 9,236-square foot site. The tower now stands 218 feet to its rooftop.
