Five-Story Building at 425 East 53rd Street Being Converted to Office Space

The Real Deal reports that an affiliate of Ruder Finn has acquired the five-story, 34,000 square-foot commercial building at 425 East 53rd Street, in Midtown East, for $30.7 million. The building will be converted to office space to house the firm’s new headquarters, and Spagnolo Gisness & Associates is designing. The currently occupying tenants will vacant the building this summer.

Nike Leases Office Space at Durst’s 855 6th Avenue, in Midtown

Crain’s Business reports Nike has leased 147,000 square feet of office space at the Durst Organization’s 42-story, 570,000 square-foot mixed-use building at 855 6th Avenue, in Midtown South. The third through sixth floors will by occupied by Nike, and their lease will include the 15,000 square-foot outdoor deck. The building was revealed by YIMBY in 2014, and completion is expected in early 2016.

125 West 16th Street Set For Renovation and Expansion

Per The Real Deal, Raphael Toledano has acquired the six-story, 39-unit rental building at 125 West 16th Street, in southeastern Chelsea, for $41.5 million. The new owner plans to add two stories and 20 units to the top of the building, and the existing structure will also be renovated. Madison Realty Capital provided $34 million for the purchase and construction costs.
