First Renderings Revealed for CetraRuddy’s 200 East 34th Street in Kips Bay

YIMBY has the first look at new renderings for a 31-story mixed-use building at 200 East 34th Street, aka 501 Third Avenue, in Kips Bay. Xiaocheng Zhou under COA 200 East 34th LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications on recently filed permits for the development. The project is being designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and will eventually rise as a 388-foot-tall tower yielding a total of 135,094 square feet.

Work Continues on Gene Kaufman’s 140 West 28th Street Hotel Tower in Chelsea

Construction is progressing quickly on the 46-story, dual-brand Marriott Hotel at 140 West 28th Street in Chelsea. Installation of the windows on the northern and southern elevations of the topped-out structure is almost entirely completed, and work should begin soon on the metallic cladding that will cover the remainder of the curtain wall. The 470-foot-tall tower is designed by Gene Kaufman Architect for the McSam Hotel Group and will contain 173,000 square feet of newly built space. Omnibuild is in charge of the construction, and its banner is displayed over the building’s future entrance along West 28th Street.

35-Story Residential Tower at 368 Third Avenue Approaches Halfway Mark in Kips Bay

A lot of progress has been made on 368 Third Avenue in Kips Bay since YIMBY’s last visit in mid-June, when excavation was still ongoing for the 35-story mixed-use residential tower. Today, the reinforced concrete structure is approaching the halfway mark and is gaining increasing prominence over the surrounding neighborhood. The 388-foot-tall, 145,000-square-foot structure is located between East 26th Street and East 27th Street and is being designed by SLCE Architects. Minrav Development purchased the site from Continental Ventures and Itzhaki Acquisitions for $64 million. The development will yield 100 apartments, averaging around 1,110 square feet apiece.
