Renderings from Issac & Stern Architects reveal a forthcoming condominium building at 1009 Second Avenue in the Turtle Bay section of Manhattan. Located near 54th Street, the 19-story building will replace an existing two-story commercial building and drastically improve the existing character of the ground-floor elevation.
Construction is rising at 150 West 48th Street. a 974-room hotel in Times Square. The 300,216-square-foot structure is designed by Gene Kaufman Architect for Sam Chang of McSam Hotel Group, which purchased the property from Rockefeller Group in early 2019 for $140 million, and received a $250 million construction loan before breaking ground last year. The site is located between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue and is part of the growing collection of new hotels rising around the famous crossroads.
Corcoran has released a new rendering detailing a possible renovation for a nine-story residential building at 19 West 55th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan. Located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, the property’s $58.5 million price tag includes complete plans to transform the façade and interior organization for a multitude of use types.
Construction is now complete on the Pendry Manhattan West Hotel, a 281-foot-tall mixed-use structure at Four Manhattan West in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield Properties, the 21-story project makes up one of five separate buildings in the Manhattan West master plan, which sits directly across Tenth Avenue from Hudson Yards. The property is located along West 33rd Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, wedged between One Manhattan West and Five Manhattan West, and will yield 164 guest rooms as well as condominiums on the upper levels.
Demolition could begin soon at 777 Eighth Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, where a 27-story hotel has been proposed. From the prolific architect-developer duo of Gene Kaufman Architect and McSam Hotel Group, as well as additional owner TSGL 8th Avenue LLC, the building will rise from a 5,000-square-foot plot on the west side of the block between West 47th and 48th Streets, not far from Times Square.
