Brookfield’s $2 Billion Two Manhattan West Will Rise Without Anchor Tenant As One Manhattan West Nears Finish Line, in Midtown West

Brookfield is officially set to construct Two Manhattan West without an anchor tenant. The near-supertall tower will be the second-tallest skyscraper in the Manhattan West complex, comprising two million square feet of space, rising 935 feet to its rooftop, and enclosing 62 floors of office space, all at a cost of approximately $2 billion. Meanwhile, work on One Manhattan West is wrapping up, with the facade closing in on completion along the upper floors, while the construction crane is now coming down on the northern elevation.

One Vanderbilt Reaches Supertall Territory Above Midtown East, Manhattan

One Vanderbilt is officially the latest skyscraper in New York City to claim supertall status. Located at 41 East 42nd Street in Midtown East, the imminently 1,401-foot tall office building already soars above Grand Central Station, and new steel columns continue to sprout along the perimeter and core, having now punctured the 1,000-foot mark. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the upcoming 58-story tower is being developed by SL Green and will span 1.75 million square feet.

Times Square’s Hard Rock Hotel Gets Ready to Rise at 159 West 48th Street

Work is now progressing quickly for Times Square’s impending Hard Rock Hotel, situated between Sixth and Seventh Avenue at 159 West 48th Street. The 445-key inn is being designed by Berg + Moss Architects. The 225,000 square foot project is being developed by Extell, in partnership with Hard Rock International. The site was purchased by Extell eight years ago for $26 million, along with the necessary air rights that will allow the structure to rise 442 feet tall. The previously existing parking garage has since been demolished, and now work on the foundation is underway.
