Renovation work is continuing to progresses on One Times Square, a 26-story tower at 1475 Broadway in Times Square. Designed by S9 Architecture with SLCE as the architect of record and developed by Jamestown, the $500 million project involves the gut renovation and re-cladding of the 395-foot-tall structure, along with the addition of new LED displays and viewing decks with platforms that overlook the famous crossroads. R&R Scaffolding Companies will supply the BMU and Turner Construction Company is the general contractor for the property, which is located on a trapezoidal plot bound by West 43rd Street to the north, West 42nd Street to the south, Broadway to the east, and Seventh Avenue to the west.

Exterior Work Nears Completion on 312 West 43rd Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Façade installation is nearing completion on 312 West 43rd Street, a 33-story residential building on the southern border of Hell’s Kitchen in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by National Real Estate Advisors and Taconic Partners, the 401-foot-tall structure will yield 330 rental units, 28,000 square feet of amenities, and two floors of retail space. DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer and Triton Construction is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Eighth and Ninth Avenues, directly north of the Port Authority Bus Terminal and its subway station, servicing the A, C, and E trains.

LPC Approves Alterations for The Waldorf Astoria Grand Ballroom in Midtown East, Manhattan

The Landmarks Preservation Commission has unanimously approved additional alterations to The Waldorf Astoria‘s grand ballroom, the latest phase of the historic hotel’s years-long residential conversion. Led by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) for Dajia US, the building’s current owner, the project will help restore the ballroom to its heralded Art Deco conditions that have since been designated a New York City landmark.

TF Cornerstone will soon welcome Chip City Cookies, an expanding New York City-based bakery, as a retail tenant at 278 Seventh Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by FXCollaborative, the 14-story rental property known as Chelsea Centro opened in 2001 and comprises around 133,000 square feet. Chip City Cookies is expected to open at the beginning of next year.
