85 Tenth Avenue’s Façade Restoration Wraps Up in Chelsea, Manhattan

Façade restoration work is wrapping up on 85 Tenth Avenue, an 11-story commercial building along the border of West Chelsea and the Meatpacking District. Originally designed by Albert G. Zimmerman and Associates and constructed in 1913 as a Nabisco factory, the structure now yields 635,000 square feet of office space managed by Related Companies and Vornado Realty Trust, as well as 40,500 square feet for a ground-floor restaurant. Archstone Builders is the general contractor for the project, which is bound by West 16th Street to the north, West 15th Street to the south, Tenth Avenue to the east, and West Street to the west.

Roc Nation Partners With SL Green, Caesars Entertainment for Proposed Casino at 1515 Broadway in Times Square

Roc Nation, the entertainment agency founded by Jay-Z, is the latest partner to support a proposed casino at 1515 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan. The project, currently known as Caesars Palace Times Square, was first announced by developer SL Green and Caesars Entertainment and could provide billions of dollars in tax revenue to New York City and New York State.

405 Park Avenue’s Demolition Continues in Midtown East, Manhattan

Demolition is progressing at 405 Park Avenue, the site of a possible new skyscraper in Midtown East, Manhattan. Though original plans called for a renovation and addition atop the existing 17-story occupant, full demolition permits were issued for the structure in January 2021. MRP Realty is the owner and Titan Industrial SVC Corp. is the demolition contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Park Avenue and East 54th Street.

Sutton Tower Wraps Up Construction at 430 East 58th Street in Sutton Place, Manhattan

Construction is wrapping up on Sutton Tower, a 67-story residential skyscraper at 430 East 58th Street in the Sutton Place section of Midtown East. Designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen and developed by Gamma Real Estate and JVP Management, the 850-foot-tall structure yields 121 units with sales and marketing led by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. Stephen B. Jacobs Group is the architect of record and Lendlease is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Sutton Place South and First Avenue.

JLL Reveals Penthouse Office Suites at 520 West 20th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Elijah Equities and JLL have revealed a pair of duplex penthouse office suites at 520 West 20th Street in Manhattan, following a major renovation and expansion of the former industrial building. Located on the western edge of Chelsea, the 100,000-square-foot property was transformed by Morris Adjmi Architects to suit gallery and enterprise commercial tenants.

Work Progresses on The Elisa at 251 West 14th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on The Elisa, an 11-story residential building at 251 West 14th Street in Chelsea. Designed by Isay Weinfeld Architects, the structure will yield 25 condominium units in one- to three-bedroom layouts with sales and marketing led by Bianca D’Alessio, Christian Haag, and Mia Calabrese of Nest Seekers and SERHANT. Prices range from $1.45 million to $5 million, while the four-bedroom penthouse price tag has yet to be announced. Pizzarotti is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, near the intersection of the West Village and the Meatpacking District.

Turken House’s Façade Takes Shape at 300 East 41st Street in Murray Hill, Manhattan

Façade work is moving along on Turken House, a 21-story residential building at 300 East 41st Street in the Murray Hill section of Midtown. Designed by Perkins + Will and developed by non-profit The Turken Foundation, which assists Turkish students in earning scholarships and job opportunities in the United States, the 227-foot-tall structure will yield 80,000 square feet with 82 turnkey residences in single- and double-occupancy configurations. Fast Track Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of East 41st Street and Second Avenue, near the United Nations and Grand Central Terminal.

Demolition for New Rolex US Headquarters Continues at 665 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

Demolition is progressing on Rolex’s old 12-story International Style headquarters at 665 Fifth Avenue in Midtown to make way for a 25-story replacement. Designed by David Chipperfield Architects and developed by Rolex Realty Company, the new structure will feature a modern glass curtain wall and yield office and retail space for the iconic watchmaker. Titan Industrial SVC Corp. is the general contractor in charge of demolition at the property, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 53rd Street.

Developers Close on $150M Loan to Complete Renovations at 295 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

Tribeca Investment Group, Meadow Partners, and PGIM Real Estate have secured $150 million in construction financing to complete a commercial modernization project at 295 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. Construction recently completed on a penthouse addition, bringing the structure to 19 stories and 710,000 square feet.

Three Hudson Boulevard Remains On Hold in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Rounding out our Turkey Week rundown of stalled projects is Three Hudson Boulevard, a planned 56-story commercial skyscraper in the Hudson Yards district. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Boston Properties and The Moinian Group, the $3 billion project is planned to stand around 940 feet tall and yield 1.86 million square feet of office space, but has been on hold since early 2020. The plot occupies a full block bound by West 35th Street to the north, West 34th Street to the south, Bella Abzug Park to the east, and Eleventh Avenue to the west.
