A rendering has been released for a ten-story, mixed-use building at 393 8th Avenue in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. YIMBY first reported on the plans earlier this week.
YIMBY recently visited the newly-completed 43-story residential building dubbed Summit, at 222 East 44th Street, in the Midtown neighborhood of Turtle Bay. The tower was designed by Handel Architects and developed by BLDG Management. Leasing and marketing for the 429 residences, which range from studios to three-bedroom units, is being led by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing. Escobar Design by Lemay is behind the interiors.
Renderings have been revealed for Minrav Development’s seven-story condominium building currently under construction at 244 East 52nd Street, in Midtown East.
Construction on a 19-story residential building at 157-161 East 28th Street in the Manhattan neighborhood of Kips Bay is about to surpass several adjacent low-rise structures. Now clearing the sixth floor, the reinforced concrete structure will eventually be 191 feet tall. C3D Architecture is the project architect while Alex Forkosh of Forkosh Development is the developer of the 43-unit, 66,125-square-foot project. The company purchased the lot back in January 2018 for $43 million, and three low-rise apartment buildings were demolished to clear the way for the new structure.
Earlier this year, Porcelanosa Group revealed its plans to renovate and expand its existing flagship location at 202-204 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan’s historic Flatiron District. Following an expanded visibility study, the ceramics manufacturer has returned to the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) with revised proposals that reduce street-surface views of the building’s rooftop mechanicals.
