Permits have been filed for a sixteen-story mixed-use building at 300 West 30th Street, in Midtown, Manhattan. The site is on the corner of 30th Street and 8th Avenue, a block from the southwest corner of Penn Station, and two avenues away Hudson Yards. Hiwin USA group is listed as responsible for the development.
Construction of the 67-story One Manhattan West in Midtown has been an unusual spectacle for most New Yorkers. The mushrooming rise of the structure is not a normal sight in Manhattan, but the arrangement has been effective, with steel rising the final fourteen levels in just two months, and now reaching the top floor. Brookfield is responsible for the development.
Progress is finally advancing on the New York Korea Center, at 122-126 East 32nd Street. Located in the Midtown neighborhood of Murray Hill, on East 32nd Street between Lexington and Park, construction began on June 28th with a panel of dignitaries who attended the groundbreaking event. The building will be designed by SAMOO Architecture PC, and is being developed by Young Park, of Level Group. The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in New York purchased the site for $15.8 million back in March 2008, which included nearly 4,500 square feet of air rights from the neighboring four-story building.
Progressing at breakneck speed since the demolition of the original extant commercial buildings in early 2016, One Vanderbilt‘s rise into the Midtown skyline has occurred at the quickest pace since the Roaring Twenties, when the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building were each completed within very short timeframes.
One after another, each remaining vacant lot along the nearly 1.5 mile-long High Line is giving rise to some of the most architecturally innovative design across the Five Boroughs. Each of the new buildings has their own identity and aesthetics, jostling to be the next spectacle in West Chelsea. One long-awaited and highly anticipated project is The Fitzroy, at 514 West 24th Street, designed by Roman and Williams and developed by a partnership between JDS Development and Largo Investments. Now, the scaffolding has come down, revealing what hopefully won’t be a once-in-a-lifetime revival of Art Deco stylings, built for contemporary sensibilities.
