The City Plans a Pre-Kindergarten at 359 93rd Street in Bay Ridge

One of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s first triumphs in office was instituting universal pre-kindergarten across all five boroughs, and by this September, 65,500 kids were enrolled in the city’s pre-K program. Now the city’s School Construction Authority is planning for a three-story pre-kindergarten building at 359 93rd Street, between Third and Fourth Avenues in Bay Ridge.

A non-profit that develops affordable homes is expanding its Bed-Stuy office building into a seven-story rental building. Neighborhood Housing Services of Bedford-Stuyvesant sent along plans to add five stories of affordable apartments to the two-story structure at 1012 Gates Avenue, close to Broadway and the border with Bushwick.

Peter Pavlou, head of Whitestone-based Pavlou Realty Inc., has filed applications for twin two-family homes at 40-36 – 40-38 191st Street, in Auburndale, located two blocks away from the neighborhood’s Long Island Rail Road station. Each structure will rise two stories and measure 2,359 square feet, and each full-floor unit should average 1,180 square feet. Belal Salim’s Whitestone-based Platonic Solids Architecture is the architect of record. An existing two-story house was filed for demolition back in November.

Yong Kang Lin, doing business as Corona Manor Realty LLC, has filed applications for two four-story, seven-unit residential buildings at 108-15 – 108-17 37th Avenue, in North Corona, located five blocks from the 111th Street stop on the 7 train. Each structure will measure 5,220 square feet on a 23-foot wide lot, which means units will average 746 square feet apiece and will probably be rentals.
