Two Trees’ plans for the Domino Factory redevelopment have seen several shifts over the years, but progress is already underway across several of the sites comprising the masterplan, which entails thousands of new units across a multitude of towers. Now, the full plans for the actual Domino Factory redevelopment are out, and they have seen substantial revisions as Vishaan Chakrabarti’s PAU, aka, Practice for Architecture and Urbanism, has taken the helm for the project’s design.

Construction Begins at 200 Kent Avenue, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

The lot at 200 Kent Avenue is now clearing out for a six-story commercial building, for which renderings have also appeared. YIMBY last reported on this site in August of 2016, when two anonymous entities purchased the empty 22,640 square foot land for $33 million. The project has been shrouded in mystery regarding a potential deal with the Trader Joe’s grocery chain for 18,000 square feet of the ground floor and cellar.

Plan for “Chestnut Commons” Affordable Housing Revealed in East New York

Plans have been announced for 274 affordable housing units as part of a project entitled Chestnut Commons, in East New York. A rezoning shift pushed by the East New York Neighborhood Plan is mostly responsible for the site’s potential. The building will be affordable to households earning up to $51,540, with more than 80 units for households earning up to $25,770, including a set-aside for formerly homeless families and individuals.
