Exterior work is wrapping up on 550 Clinton Avenue, a 29-story mixed-use project in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Hope Street Capital, the 280,000-square-foot structure will yield 284 apartments and about 60,000 square feet of retail space. 550 Clinton Avenue is bound by Atlantic Avenue to the south, Clinton Avenue to the east, and Vanderbilt Avenue to the west.
Westchester County’s Industrial Development Agency has approved two substantial multifamily rental properties in downtown White Plains. Referred to simply as the IDA, the agency works to facilitate diversification and urbanization of the county through the construction of vibrant mixed-use developments. Together these new properties will create 346 new apartments and represent $131 million in private investment.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 425 Grand Concourse, a 26-story mixed-use building in Mott Haven, The Bronx. Designed by Dattner Architects, the structure yields 277 residences, a neighborhood supermarket, a community health center, a cultural center, and a 30,000-square-foot educational facility for CUNY’s Hostos Community College. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 248 units for residents at 30 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $15,360 to $192,400.
Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 2-24 26th Avenue in Astoria, Queens. Located between 2nd and 3rd Streets, the lot is closest to the Astoria Boulevard subway station, serviced by the N and W trains. Yitzchok Katz of Developing NY State is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Construction is nearing completion on Brooklyn Crossing, a 51-story residential skyscraper at 18 Sixth Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by The Brodsky Organization and Greenland Forest City Partners, the 532-foot-tall, 740,000-square-foot building will yield 858 rental units, with 258 dedicated to affordable housing. The reinforced concrete structure towers over the adjacent Barclays Center and is the tallest building in the 22-acre Pacific Park master plan. The rest of the development will be constructed atop the currently exposed train tracks that run parallel with Atlantic Avenue directly to the east. Tishman Construction is the general contractor and McNamara Salvia is the structural engineer for the building, which is located at the corner of Atlantic and Sixth Avenues. Lemay + Escobar is designing the interiors, including the main lobby, the apartments, the corridors, the outdoor terrace, and the amenity spaces.
