Studio Gang’s Shimmering 11 Hoyt Street Rising Above Ground in Downtown Brooklyn

It’s been three months since we got a first look at what’s coming to 11 Hoyt Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Now, construction is starting to rise above street level. The latest images from Tectonic reveal that the building has reached its sixth floor, just shy of one-eighth of the eventual total floor count. At this point, no elements of the distinctive design from the renderings are visible. The 51-story condominium tower is being designed by Studio Gang, a Chicago-based firm. This will be their first residential building in New York City.

NYC Ferry Routes Expand Service Across Manhattan and The Bronx

The NYC Ferry system has announced two expanded routes which will now include the Lower East Side, Manhattan, and The Bronx. The expanded service arrives as a joint initiative with The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and Hornblower, a private cruise and charter company that operates NYC’s ferry network.

Permits have been filed for a fourteen-story assisted living facility at 1622-1632 York Avenue in Yorkville, Manhattan. The site is just one block from Carl Schurz Park, home to the Gracie Mansion, the official home of the Mayor of New York City. Two avenues away is the 86th Street subway station, serviced by the N and Q trains. The Engel Burman Group is behind the applications.

The property is located just off of Flushing Avenue, not too far from the Jefferson Street subway stop on the L Train, as well as Knickerbocker Ave & Central Avenue on the M Train. The owner and developer is Chaim Landau.
