As if the High Line is not already filled with enough unique and interesting structures that stretch the nearly 1.5 mile long public park, another interesting building is under construction, and rising off the ground. Located at 520 West 20th Street on the western side of the High Line, the future site of, “The Warehouse,” designed by Morris Adjmi and developed by Elijah Equities, has been making good progress in the West Chelsea neighborhood.

Permits have been filed for a five-story residential building at 282 East 32nd Street in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. The site is three blocks from the Beverly Road subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. The station is the third to last stop before the end of the line at Flatbush Avenue, which also anchors a major commercial intersection. Solomon Schwimmer of Twin Group Associates will be responsible for the development.

La Guardia Airport’s $8 Billion Overhaul Making Major Headway

Things are looking up for North America’s worst airport. Construction is moving along at the LaGuardia Airport renovation and expansion in East Elmhurst, Queens. The $8 billion overhaul of the transport hub hopes to alleviate the airport of its notorious struggle with constant delays and cancellations, a source of national embarrassment and numerous dubious honors, like being ranked the 14th worst airport in the world. LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP) is behind the project.

New Art Galleries Rising at 505-511 West 27th Street, West Chelsea

Located in the northern section of Chelsea, in between Zaha Hadid’s first residential building and the High Line stretching over West 27th Street, a series of new art galleries designed by Studio MDA founder Markus Dochantschi are nearing completion. The project will yield nearly 15,000 square feet of interior gallery space split between two single-story buildings. Dubbed “The High Line Nine,” the structures are currently under construction, and are being developed by Related.
