The affordable housing lottery has launched for Casa Celina, 16-story senior housing development located at 1001 Thieriot Avenue in Soundview, The Bronx. Designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning and developed by Xenolith Partners, The Kretchmer Companies, Jewish Association Serving the Aging (JASA), ELH Mgmt. LLC, New York City Public Housing Authority (NYCHA), the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), and the NYC Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the structure also addressed as 1810 Watson Avenue yields 205 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 106 units for residents at 50 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $0 to $60,050.

High Line Moynihan Connector’s Wooden Truss Bridge Readies for Installation in Midtown West, Manhattan

Construction is coming together on the High Line Moynihan Connector, a nearly 1,200-foot-long extension of the High Line linking the elevated park with the five-building Manhattan West complex in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and James Corner Field Operations and developed in a public-private partnership between Empire State Development (ESD), Friends of the High Line, and Brookfield Properties, the $50 million project consists of two 600-foot-long ADA-accessible bridges and will allow for easier access to Moynihan Train Hall and Penn Station. Turner Construction Company is the general contractor for the walkway, which runs along West 30th Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues and turns to the north at Dyer Avenue to connect to the elevated southwestern corner of the Manhattan West plaza above West 31st Street.

435 West 19th Street Completes Construction in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is complete on 435 West 19th Street, an eight-story residential conversion and expansion in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by Rand Engineering and Architecture and developed by Churchill Real Estate Holdings, the project involved the construction of a three-story steel-framed expansion atop a former warehouse building and the repurposing of its interiors to yield 21 condominium units with an average scope of 1,400 square feet. Project 19 High Line LLC is the owner and CORE Real Estate is handling sales and marketing for the property, which is located between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. Sales have launched and homes range in price from $1.15 million for a studio, while a three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom penthouse unit costs $7 million.
