51 South 1st Street’s Foundations Take Shape in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Foundation work is progressing quickly at 51 South 1st Street, the site of a seven-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by ARC Architecture + Design Studio and developed by Einav Gelberg of 731 Liberty Avenue LLC, the 76-foot-tall structure will span 15,596 square feet and yield eight condominium units with an average scope of 1,949 square feet, as well as a cellar level and a 39-foot-long rear yard. The property is located on an interior lot between Kent and Wythe Avenues.

Mayor Adams Announces GreenHOUSE Fund to Reduce Housing Emissions In New York City

New York City Mayor Eric Adams recently announced the creation of the GreenHOUSE Fund, which will aim to assist rent-regulated apartment buildings and low-income co-ops in their efforts to decarbonize. If approved, the fund will work to improve air quality in disadvantaged communities with high asthma rates while simultaneously moving the city and state closer to achieving emissions reduction and equity goals.

New Renderings Revealed For 20-Acre Metropolitan Park Proposal in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Queens

New York Mets owner Steve Cohen recently unveiled new renderings for Metropolitan Park, a 20-acre park on the former site of Shea Stadium in Flushing MeadowsCorona Park, Queens. Designed in collaboration between SHoP Architects and Field Operations, the park is part of the 50-acre, $8 billion plan to transform the parking lots on the western side of Citi Field into a mixed-use casino and hotel complex. The development is bound by Shea Road to the north and west, Roosevelt Avenue to the south, and Citi Field, Seaver Way, and Mets Plaza to the east.

Exterior work is progressing on 2 Bushwick Avenue, a three-story commercial building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by ROART for EMC2 Bushwick LLC, which purchased the parcel for $2.2 million in 2014, the 12,655-square-foot structure will yield two levels of retail space and one level of office space. The property was formerly occupied by a gas station at the corner of Bushwick and Metropolitan Avenues. REAL New York is marketing the commercial space.
