Bedford-Stuyvesant continues to see an influx of new development filling in its urban gaps, and adding new residential to the area. One such project is 165 Malcolm X Boulevard. The six-story residential building will rise just eight blocks away from the Gates Avenue subway station, serviced by the J, M, and Z trains. An anonymous LLC is responsible for the development.
Permits have been filed for a four-story mixed-use building at 1466 54th Street in Borough Park, Brooklyn. The site is four blocks away from the 55th Street subway station, serviced by the D trains. Cityscape Build is behind the applications.
Fresh permits have revealed a new, two-building development with dual addresses at 1643 and 1645 New York Avenue, in Flatbush, Brooklyn. The project will rise five blocks away from the Flatbush Avenue Subway Station, the end of the line for the 2 and 5 trains, and a short walk east to the Brooklyn College campus.
Anbau Enterprises is officially moving forward on 41 West 23rd Street, in Chelsea, over three years after the site’s re-design passed the Landmark Preservation Commission. Located half a block away from the Flatiron Building and less than two avenues away from four different subway stations on 23rd Street, the lot has been expected to yield something interesting for about a decade, which means actual progress is very welcome.
Jersey City’s ongoing development boom has chiefly been focused along the waterfront, but the tendrils of new construction have also started to wrap their way across increasingly distant swaths of the city, including 485 Marin Boulevard, in Hamilton Park. There, HWKN has designed an 18-story and 397-unit rental development for KRE Group, which is now almost complete.
