Designed by Jeffrey Sandor Orling Architect and developed by Bernard Schwimmer, the structure yields 32 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are eight units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $67,200 to $167,570.
Construction is nearing completion on 30 East 31st Street, a 39-story residential tower in NoMad. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Ekstein Development and Pinnacle Real Estate, the 479-foot-tall structure will yield 70,000 square feet and 42 units marketed by Reuveni Real Estate. The homes average 1,700 square feet and range in price from $1.65 million to upward of $12 million. 30 East 31st Street is located between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South.
Excavation and foundation work are progressing at 220 West 28th Street, site of Fashion Institute of Technology‘s New Academic Building in the Garment District of Chelsea. Designed by SHoP Architects, the ten-story, 110,000-square-foot structure will rise from a slender rectangular plot between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. The site is within walking distance of Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, and Moynihan Train Hall and is aiming for LEED Gold certification. EE Cruz & Company Inc. is the general contractor for the project.
This month, construction broke ground for Casa Celina, a 205-unit affordable housing development for seniors in the Soundview section of The Bronx. The development site is located at the corner of Watson and Thieriot Avenues and is the latest addition to the Justice Sonia Sotomayor housing complex.
Permits have been filed for a 15-story mixed-use building at 24 Orchard Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Located between Hester and Canal Streets, the interior lot is closest to the East Broadway subway station, serviced by the F train. French architect Christophe Rousselle is listed as the owner behind the applications.
