Sales Ramp Up As Construction Makes Headway at Extell & Kushner Companies’ Lofts Pier Village on the Jersey Shore

Since launching sales in 2017, Extell’s latest property in New Jersey, The Lofts Pier Village, has now passed several milestones, with more than 100 residences now either sold or in-contract. Construction is also making major headway. Located in the Jersey Shore’s Long Branch community, Pier Village is being developed in collaboration with Kushner Companies, and the entire development is slated for completion in 2020.

Permits Filed for 133-25 37th Avenue, Flushing, Queens

Permits have been filed for a 19-story mixed-use high rise at 133-25 37th Avenue in Flushing, Queens. The site is six blocks away from the Flushing Main Street subway station, end of the line for the 7 trains, and a large commercial center in its own right. China-based Yihai Property will be responsible for the development.

Permits have been pre-filed for a fourteen-story mixed-use high-rise at 76 Dinsmore Place in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn. This site is three blocks away from the Norwood Avenue subway station, serviced by the J trains. The building is being developed by the NYC Housing Preservation and Development agency.

Progressing at breakneck speed since the demolition of the original extant commercial buildings in early 2016, One Vanderbilt‘s rise into the Midtown skyline has occurred at the quickest pace since the Roaring Twenties, when the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building were each completed within very short timeframes.

Renderings Revealed for High-Rise Affordable Housing at 153-19 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica, Queens

A new 21-story high-rise is expected to come to Jamaica, as reported by YIMBY yesterday. This is not uncommon for the Queens neighborhood, but 153-19 Jamaica Avenue will be different, and today we have the first renderings for the building. BFC Partners has told YIMBY that all 139 units of the project will let at affordable housing rates. The facilities will also include supportive facilities, managed by New Destiny Housing.

Permits have been filed for a five-story residential building at 55-40 97th Place in Corona, Queens. The site is nine blocks away from the Woodhaven Boulevard subway station, serviced by the E, M, and R trains. In the opposite direction is the expansive Flushing Meadows Corona Park, home to the Queens Museum, Zoo, a science center, and stadiums for tennis and baseball.

New Design Revealed for 3 East 3rd Street as Permits Approved, East Village

A new design is out for the six-story building coming to 3 East 3rd Street, just around the corner from New York’s historic Bowery, the oldest thoroughfare still in use on Manhattan. The corridor has been subject to a recent revival thanks to steady redevelopment with emphasis on the area’s cultural significance over the past few decades.

Permits have been filed for a 21-story mixed-use high-rise at 153-19 Jamaica Avenue, in Jamaica, Queens. The neighborhood has seen a spike in new development since the city announced an action plan to stimulate the local economy. The site is two blocks away from the Jamaica Center subway station, serviced by the E, J, and Z trains. Brooklyn-based BFC Partners will be responsible for the development. The firm is most notable for being part of the joint ventures responsible for the redevelopment of the Bedford Union Armory and Essex Crossing.

Construction is imminent on a new twelve-story mixed-use building at 38-01 Queens Boulevard in Sunnyside, Queens, and today YIMBY has the first renderings for the project. SBLM Architects is responsible for designing the building, dubbed The Sunnyside. The façade has a mix of curtain wall and steel paneling throughout, employing a blend of various architectural styles.

Permits have been filed for a 22-story commercial office building at 1241 Broadway in Midtown, Manhattan. The architect of the project will be Skidmore Owings & Merrill, who arguably have had the largest impact on New York City’s built environment compared to any other firm. First formed in 1939, they specialize in high-end office space, like the soon-to-be tower in today’s post.
