Construction is complete on 540 Waverly Avenue, a nine-story residential building in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects and developed by The Daten Group, the 117,000-square-foot structure yields 135 rental units spread across 91,000 square feet with 41 residences reserved for affordable housing, 52 parking spaces, and 6,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property is located at the corner of Waverly and Atlantic Avenues.

Developer Reveal Plans for 15-Story Apartment Building at 157 Westchester Avenue in Port Chester, New York

Titanium Realty Group has revealed proposals to redevelop an assembly of land into a mixed-use rental property at 157 West Chester Avenue in Port Chester, Westchester County. If approved by the Port Chester Planning Commission, the new building will top out at 15 stories and comprise 169 market-rate rental units, 21 affordable housing units designated for households earning 60 percent area median income (AMI), 1,465 square feet of commercial space, and two levels of parking for up to 110 vehicles.

Eastlight Wraps Up Construction at 200 East 34th Street in Kips Bay, Manhattan

Construction is complete on Eastlight, a 34-story residential tower at 200 East 34th Street in Kips Bay. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by 200 East 34th LLC, the 388-foot-tall structure yields 135,094 square feet with 144 condominium units in studio to two-bedroom layouts and 2,992 square feet of commercial space on the lower levels. Noble Construction Group was the general contractor for the property, which is located at the southeastern corner of Third Avenue and East 34th Street.

Renderings Reveal Nine-Story Mixed-Use Building at 585 Union Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

A trio of renderings from Fogarty Finger are the first to reveal a nine-story mixed-use building at 585 Union Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The development team responsible for the building includes Tavros Capital, Charney Companies, and Canyon Partners. Broadway Construction Group is the general contractor.

New Rendering Revealed for 122 Fifth Avenue in Union Square, Manhattan

Work on 122 Fifth Avenue’s rooftop expansion is close to wrapping up in Union Square, Manhattan. The 11-story mixed-use project received a $100 million addition of 300,000 square feet for retail and office space, developed by Bromley Companies and designed by STUDIOS architecture.

Terminal Warehouse Expansion Progresses at 261 Eleventh Avenue in West Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on Terminal Warehouse, where a seven-story commercial addition is being constructed above the historic 132-year-old building at 261 Eleventh Avenue in West Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by L&L Holding Company and Columbia Property Trust, the $1.25 billion project was approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in January 2020 and will reinvigorate the structure with a mix of Class A office suites, retail space, and multiple dining options. New Line Structures & Development is the general contractor for the property, which spans an entire city block bound by West 28th Street to the north, West 27th Street to the south, Eleventh Avenue to the east, and West Street to the west.

East Side Access Project’s Grand Central Madison Station Opens in Midtown East, Manhattan

A infrastructure project more than a half century in the making has finally reached the finish line with last week’s official opening of the Grand Central Madison station, the centerpiece of the $11.1 billion East Side Access plan to bring Long Island Rail Road service to Grand Central Terminal in Midtown East. Multiple companies designed, engineered, and collaborated on the project and include AECOM and Jacobs as project managers; WSP as a managing partner of a three-firm joint venture that includes STV and Parsons; Tutor Perini Corporation; Dragados; Judlau Contracting; Skanska; Michels; Comstock; Halmar International; Schiavone; Piccone; Five Star; Yonkers Electric; Tully Environmental; and EJ Electric. The new terminal sits 150 feet below the existing Grand Central facility, along Vanderbilt Avenue between East 43rd and East 48th Streets. The first ceremonial train ran from the Jamaica station in Queens and arrived at the Grand Central Madison station on January 25 at 11:07 a.m.

Initial plans to redevelop the property into a mixed-use commercial hub date back to 2015, but have failed to gain approval from the city and support from community leaders.

Developers Secure $44.7M to Complete Infrastructure Improvement Project in Arverne, Queens

L+M Development Partners, Bluestone Organization, and Triangle Equities have closed on $44.66 million in financing to complete a major infrastructure improvement project in Arverne, Queens, a small coastal neighborhood on the Rockaway Peninsula. The financing will cover the reconstruction of Edgemere Avenue between Beach 32nd and Beach 38th Streets, critical infrastructure improvements to the surrounding neighborhood, and the completion of Arverne East, a 1,650-unit master-planned community.

Developed by The Arker Companies, the complex spans 35 acres and includes six buildings located at 11629 Seaview Avenue, 911 Erskine Street, 10 Schroeder’s Walk, 702 Vandalia Avenue, 881 Erskine Street, and 894 Fountain Avenue.
