Morris Adjmi’s Cantilevering 520 West 20th Street Making Headway in West Chelsea

Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects,”The Warehouse,” is located at 520 West 20th Street, next to the High Line between West 19th and 20th Streets. The project topped-out late last year, and is being developed by Elijah Equities. Standing above the West Chelsea neighborhood, the existing 50-foot tall brick structure is being preserved and refurbished. With the base now covered behind black and white-colored construction netting and scaffolding, work on the new three-story suspended and cantilevering metal structure up above continues atop the old roofline.

Work Wraps for Rafael Vinoly’s Futuristic 61 Ninth Avenue, In The Meatpacking District

Standing nine stories tall directly across from Chelsea Market, 61 Ninth Avenue sits in the heart of the Meatpacking District. Designed by Rafael Vinoly Architects, the new 170,000 square foot commercial structure rises 135 feet tall. Vornado Realty Trust and Aurora Capital are the developers of the project.

Brookfield’s $2 Billion Two Manhattan West Will Rise Without Anchor Tenant As One Manhattan West Nears Finish Line, in Midtown West

Brookfield is officially set to construct Two Manhattan West without an anchor tenant. The near-supertall tower will be the second-tallest skyscraper in the Manhattan West complex, comprising two million square feet of space, rising 935 feet to its rooftop, and enclosing 62 floors of office space, all at a cost of approximately $2 billion. Meanwhile, work on One Manhattan West is wrapping up, with the facade closing in on completion along the upper floors, while the construction crane is now coming down on the northern elevation.

New Interior Photos Released For The Quinn at 197 Van Vorst Street in Jersey City

Located at 197 Van Vorst Street in Jersey City’s Paulus Hook neighborhood is The Quinn. New photos of the 16-story tower’s chic interiors were released as construction wraps up on the 153-unit residential development. Fogarty Finger Architecture designed the mixed-use, mid-rise building with Field Development Group as the developer.

277 South Fifth Street Closing In On Final Floors Above Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Dubbed “The Dime,” 277 South Fifth Street will be a new 264-foot tall residential tower in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The reinforced concrete building is close to topping off behind the Dime Savings Bank landmark. The project sits on a 50,000 square foot site, almost an acre in size, and will span just over 350,000 square feet.

Permits Filed for 689 Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for a four-story mixed-use building at 689 Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located on the corner of Franklin Avenue and Prospect Place, the vacant lot is one block north of the Park Place subway station, serviced by the S train. It is also seven blocks south of the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the C and S trains. David Manesh of Two Lot LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Composed of three contemporary towers on the southern side of the Williamsburg Bridge, 420 Kent Avenue is nearing completion of both exterior and interior work. Designed by ODA Architecture, the upcoming triplet of staggered glass boxes are some of the first new buildings to be constructed as part of the residential building boom that has spread across the Williamsburg waterfront. Spitzer Enterprises is the developer of the 550,000 square foot complex, and its 850 rental apartments will soon see move-ins commence. Today, YIMBY has an exclusive look at views and interiors for the project, as well as an update from its developer Eliot Spitzer on the official launch of leasing.

Tishman Speyer Achieves Full Occupancy for “The JACX,” at 28-07 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City

YIMBY has word that Tishman Speyer has finalized lease agreements for all 1.2 million square feet of its recently completed office development known as “The JACX,” in Long Island City. While the property has not officially debuted, the building’s list of tenants includes Macy’s, Inc., New York-Presbyterian, Bloomingdale’s, WeWork, and a primary care practice operated by Weill Cornell Medicine.
