Façade Installation Nears Pinnacle of 16 Dupont Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Curtain wall installation has reached the final floors of 16 Dupont Street, a 40-story residential tower in Greenpoint, Brooklyn‘s 22-acre Greenpoint Landing master plan. Designed by GKV Architects and developed by Rockefeller Group and Park Tower Group, the 400-foot-tall structure will span 365,651 square feet and yield 381 rental units, with 115 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 2,548 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 138 enclosed parking spaces. The property is located at the intersection of Dupont, West, and Commercial Streets.

218 Front Street Nears Completion in Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn

Exterior work is finishing up on 218 Front Street, a seven-story, two-building residential complex in Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by S. Wieder Architect and developed and built by Chess Builders, the project will yield 218 rental apartments with 66 affordable housing units, as well as 350 square feet of commercial space and 180 square feet of community space on the ground floor. The property is bound by Front Street to the north and York Street to the south, and was formerly occupied by a one-story industrial warehouse and an open-air lumber yard.

185 Chrystie Street Tops Out on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction has topped out on 185 Chrystie Street, a 17-story residential building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by GF55 Partners and developed by Omnia Group and Naveh Shuster, the 175-foot-tall structure will span 75,000 square feet and yield 57 units and ground-floor retail space. The property is located between Stanton and Rivington Streets, directly across from Sara D. Roosevelt Park.

New Renderings Released For 2-20 and 2-21 Malt Drive in Hunters Point, Queens

New renderings have been revealed for 2-20 and 2-21 Malt Drive, a two-tower complex in the Hunters Point South master plan in Hunters Point, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by TF Cornerstone, the development consists of a 34-story, 390-foot-tall structure with 575 units at 2-20 Malt Drive and a two-tower building at 2-21 Malt Dive with a 38-story, 440-foot-tall tower and a 25-story, 310-foot-tall sibling collectively housing 811 units. The project will span 1.43 million square feet and yield 1,386 rental units, with 30 percent designated for affordable housing, as well as around 25,000 square feet of retail space. SCAPE Landscape Architecture is the landscape architect for the master plan, which will rise from a subdivided plot bound by 54th Avenue to the north, Newtown Creek to the south, and 2nd Street to the west.

Exterior Work Continues on 585 Union Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Exterior work is progressing on 585 Union Street, a nine-story residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Tavros Capital, Charney Companies, and Canyon Partners, the 95-foot-tall structure will span 167,000 square feet and yield 214 rental units in studio to three-bedroom layouts, with 25 percent designated as affordable housing, as well as 8,900 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. The property is bound by Sackett Street to the north, Union Street to the south, and 3rd Avenue to the east.

Foundations Underway at 280 Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan

Foundations are underway at 280 Eighth Avenue, the site of a 12-story residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Red Apple Group under the RA 280 Development LLC, the 113-foot-tall structure will span 58,021 square feet and yield 64 rental units with an average scope of 819 square feet, as well as 4,642 square feet of commercial space, 947 square feet of community facility space, a cellar level, and a 24-foot-long rear yard. The property is situated at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 24th Street.

Beach Channel Apartments Nears Completion at 13-12 Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, Queens

Construction is nearing completion on Beach Channel Apartments, an eight-story affordable housing building at 13-12 Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by Urban Architecture Initiatives (UAI) and developed by BRC and Camber Property Group, the structure is set to yield 147 affordable units and 100 shelter units with supportive services, as well as residential amenities and a 1,239-square-foot community facility on the ground floor. The property is located on an interior lot between Beach Channel Drive and Redfern Avenue.

1515 Surf Avenue Nears Completion in Coney Island, Brooklyn

Construction is nearing completion on 1515 Surf Avenue, a two-tower residential project along the Coney Island waterfront in Brooklyn. Designed by Studio V Architecture and developed by LCOR, the 16- and 26-story structures will span 470,000 square feet and yield 324 units in one- and two-bedroom layouts, with 139 apartments designated for affordable housing, as well as 10,600 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property is located on a 1.5-acre plot bound by Surf Avenue to the south, West 15th Street to the east, and West 16th Street to the west.

1522 First Avenue Stands Topped Out On Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is closing in on the parapet of 1522 First Avenue, a 30-story medical office building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by Extell, the 449-foot-tall structure will yield 400,000 square feet of Class A office space and retail space on the ground floor and cellar levels. The Hospital for Special Surgery will serve as the anchor tenant, occupying 200,000 square feet across the first eight stories of the building. The property is alternately addressed as 403 East 79th Street and located between East 79th and 80th Streets.

New Renderings Released For Williamsburg Wharf At 464-484 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

New renderings have been revealed for Williamsburg Wharf, a 3.75-acre mixed-use development at 464-484 Kent Avenue on the South Williamsburg waterfront in Brooklyn. Developed by Naftali Group and Access Industries, the multi-phase master plan will yield approximately 1 million square feet of residential, commercial, and retail space, along with a public esplanade stretching nearly 525 feet along the East River. Williamsburg Wharf will feature five 22-story residential towers housing nearly 850 condominium and rental units designed by Brandon Haw Architecture, COOKFOX Architects, Rockwell Group, Ward + Gray, Studio Munge, and Hill West Architects. SERHANT New Development is handling sales and marketing for the first residential tower, with sales slated to launch later this year. The site is bound by South 10th Street to the north, Division Avenue to the south, Kent Avenue to the east, and Wallabout Channel to the west.
