111 Wall Street’s New Curtain Wall Reaches Upper Levels in Financial District, Manhattan

Renovation work is moving along on 111 Wall Street, a 25-story commercial building in Manhattan’s Financial District. Designed by STUDIOS Architecture and developed by Wafra Capital Partners and The Nightingale Group, the $100 million project involves the replacement of the structure’s midcentury façade with a modern glass curtain wall and the full gut renovation of its 1.5 million square feet of office space, as well as the construction of an expanded lobby and amenity spaces designed by URBN Playground on the lower floors. Hunter Roberts Construction Group is the general contractor and JLL is handling leasing for the property, which is bound by Wall Street and Mannahatta Park to the northeast, Front Street to the northwest, South Street and the FDR Drive to the southeast, and Gouverneur Lane to the southwest.

Exterior work continues on 1162 Broadway, a 13-story commercial building in the Madison Square North Historic District of NoMad. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by 1162 Broadway LLC, the 185-foot-tall structure will yield Class A office space and 1,800 square feet for a restaurant on the ground floor and cellar level. On Star Management is the general contractor for the property, which is located between West 27th and 28th Streets.

540 Hudson Street Nears Completion in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Exterior work is nearing completion on 540 Hudson Street, a seven-story residential building in Greenwich Village. The building was designed by Morris Adjmi Architects who received approval by the Landmarks Preservation Commission. BKSK Architects adapted the design and are nearing completion of the 63-foot-tall structure for developers Aurora Capital Associates and William Gottlieb Real Estate. Inside will be 19 units spread across 48,535 square feet as well as 6,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and cellar levels. Titanium Construction Services is the general contractor and Belden Tri-State Building Materials is the brick supplier for the property, which is also addressed as 111 Charles Street and is located at the corner of Hudson and Charles Streets.
