SHoP Architects’ 26-Story Two Hudson Square Awaits Construction in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Construction preparations have yet to begin at Two Hudson Square, site of a 465-foot-tall mixed-use project in Hudson Square. Alternately addressed as 76 Varick Street, the vacant 32,699-square-foot property will give rise to a 26-story, 450,380-square-foot building designed by SHoP Architects and developed by a joint venture between Taconic Investment Partners and Nuveen, which acquired the land in a 99-year lease from Trinity Real Estate. The trapezoidal plot is bound by Canal Street to the south, Varick Street to the west, Grand Street to the north, and Sullivan Street and Duarte Square to the east.

100 Vandam Street’s Addition and Conversion Nears Completion in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Construction is getting close to completion on 100 Vandam Street, a 20-story addition atop a ten-story, 133-year-old former power plant in Hudson Square. Designed by COOKFOX and developed by Jeff Greene, the 300-foot-tall project will yield 70 residential units and ground-floor retail space. The site is located at the intersection of Greenwich and Vandam Streets.

Foundation Work Underway for Disney’s Headquarters at Four Hudson Square in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Foundation work is underway for Disney’s 1.2 million-square-foot headquarters at 137 Varick Street in Hudson Square. Alternately addressed as Four Hudson Square, the 22-story, 320-foot-tall structure is designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and is being developed in partnership with Silverstein Properties. Disney purchased the parcel from Trinity Church Real Estate for $650 million, and Skanska was responsible for the demolition of four structures that wrapped up last summer. Lendlease is in charge of constructing the new headquarters, which is bound by Varick Street to the east, Spring Street to the south, Hudson Street to the west, and Vandam Street to the north.
