139 East 56th Street, aka 677-681 Lexington Avenue, recently topped out 17 stories above Midtown. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Hines and Welltower, the new senior-housing facility is called “Sunrise” and is located at the corner of East 56th Street and Lexington Avenue. Facade installation at ground level has also commenced. The two developers previously paid $115 million for the 9,236-square foot site. The tower now stands 218 feet to its rooftop.
PYE Properties and Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel Architects will again appear before New York City’s Landmarks Preservation Commission with proposals to expand and redevelop the historic Coney Island Shore Theatre for commercial use. Specific components would include a new hotel, a spa, and ground floor retail.
A new mixed-use tower, 329 Broadway, is under construction in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The 24,532-square-foot plot is situated next to the elevated subway tracks above Broadway and is also next to the landmarked St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
This week Reuveni Real Estate launched sales at Dahlia, a new condominium property at 212 West 95th Street. Designed by CetraRuddy with RKTB Architects serving as the architect of record, the 20-story building topped-off earlier this year. Occupancy is expected on begin in Spring 2020.
Partners Brookfield Properties and Park Tower Group have announced the next large phase of development at Greenpoint Landing. The centerpiece will be two residential towers designed by OMA. One acre of public waterfront space designed by James Corner Field Operations will surround the mixed-income housing which will also include another new seven-story building. Thirty percent of the 745 units will be affordable housing. This project will also result in further expansion of Greenpoint’s waterfront esplanade. Marmol Radziner is the interior designer while Beyer Blinder Belle is the executive architect and interior designer.
