YIMBY reported on new building applications for 336 East 112th Street back in September of 2015. Now, with construction well underway, we have full renderings for the project, which is being designed by Tribeca-based TRA Studio Architecture.
Manhattan Beach is a fairly quiet and affluent neighborhood, with plenty of single-family homes. The Midtown Plateau’s block-to-block coverage of behemoth skyscrapers knows no rivals in terms of sheer density, which is why it is increasingly difficult for towers to penetrate above the still-rapidly-growing thicket. But at an imminent height of 1,050 feet, and after ten years of watching and waiting, the Jean Nouvel-designed 53 West 53rd Street is about to do exactly that.
Building applications were filed for the site spanning from 513 3rd Avenue to 165 12th Street, on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 12th Street in Gowanus, back in late July. Now, YIMBY has the reveal for the project, which is being designed by prolific architects Issac & Stern.
A single story warehouse is about to be torn down to make way for a six-story mixed-use structure in the southernmost corner of Williamsburg, at 334 Flushing Avenue.
