For the second time this week, we can report that a supertall in Manhattan is reaching its peak. One Manhattan West’s concrete superstructure has topped-out 995 feet above Midtown. Brookfield is behind Manhattan West, which will create six buildings and a large public plaza, producing a total seven million square feet of office, residential, and hotel space.
Last month, permits were filed for a new five-story residential building at 326 Avenue U in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn. The building follows their mission for creating intelligent sustainable communities by utilizing efficient design and planning.
Permits have been filed for a five-story mixed-use building at 491 Baltic Street in Boerum Hill, by the border with Gowanus, Brooklyn. The site is eight blocks from the Barclays Center subway station, a crossroads for the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, R, and W trains. Tankhouse Development is responsible for the project.
Permits have been filed for a 15-story mixed-use building at 1331 Jerome Avenue, in Mount Eden, The Bronx. The site is two blocks away from the 170th Street subway station, serviced by the 4 trains, and six blocks from an identically named station along the Grand Concourse street, serviced by the D trains. Developer Peter Fine is behind the applications.
Progress on the second highest tower in the Hudson Yards mega-development has reached a milestone. 35 Hudson Yards has officially topped out at 1,009 feet. Now that it has reached that height, it is the ninth tallest structure in New York City and 19th tallest in the United States. Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group are responsible for the development. Next door, 30 Hudson Yards is tantalizingly close to topping out, but the milestone has not yet officially occurred.
