Renderings For 10-Story, Nine-Unit Condo Building At 165 Chrystie Street, Lower East Side

In early 2014, YIMBY brought you news of plans for a 10-story, nine-unit condominium building at 165 Chrystie Street, on the Lower East Side, and now Curbed has the first renderings. The 17,170 square-foot building will have full-floor units averaging 1,910 square feet. DRK Chrystie LLC is developing and ODA Architecture is designing the project. The existing three-story building must first be removed; demolition permit were filed in December 2014.

City Moves to Redevelop Crumbling P.S. 31 in the South Bronx

Preservationists spent years decrying the state of the decrepit, city-owned school at 425 Grand Concourse in the South Bronx neighborhood of Mott Haven, until the city announced that it would demolish the landmarked Gothic building, formerly P.S. 31, in April. Now the Department of Housing Preservation and Development has released an RFP (request for proposals) to redevelop the property into affordable housing.

Zaha Hadid’s 39-Unit Condo Building Above Street Level At 520 West 28th Street, Chelsea

Six months ago, foundation work was underway at 520 West 28th Street, in West Chelsea, where Related Companies is developing an 11-story, 39-condo-unit building. Now construction is up to the second floor, according to Curbed. Zaha Hadid is designing, and the nearly 149,000 square-foot building will include 11,180 square feet of commercial space, which will be broken into two retail units on the ground floor, according to Schedule A. Completion is expected in 2016.


2 Weaver Street

14-Unit Luxury Rental Project Begins Construction At 2 Weaver Street, Scarsdale

Construction has begun at 2-4 Weaver Street, in southern Scarsdale, on a three-story, 11-unit luxury rental building. Dubbed The Heathcote, the project also incorporates an existing tavern at the intersection, which will be renovated to include an additional three units and a fitness center. Occupancy is slated for Summer 2016. TREECO (The Real Estate Equity Company) is developing, and Richard Henry Behr Architects is designing, according to Westfair Communications.
