Tower Crane Comes Down From One Manhattan Square As Exterior Work Nears Completion

Construction on the Lower East Side’s first legitimate skyscraper continues apace. When YIMBY last looked at 252 South Street, i.e. One Manhattan Square, the superstructure had reached its 80th floor, with topping-out officially occurring last September. Now, only a dozen floors of cladding remain before its exterior is complete. Extell Development is responsible for development, with Lendlease responsible for construction.

Central Park Tower Stretches Toward Supertall Territory On Way to 1,550′ Pinnacle

After covering 220 Central Park South and 111 West 57th Street, it’s time we cover the tallest of the three skyscrapers under construction on Midtown’s billionaire’s alley. 217 West 57th Street is currently on track to reach 1,550 feet above the ground. Once complete, it will be the tallest residential skyscraper in the country and second tallest tower in the country. Extell Development is responsible for the project.

Permits Filed for the Bedford Union Armory’s 15-Story Residential Addition, Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for a 15-story residential building at 1579 Bedford Avenue, also known as the Bedford Union Armory, in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The site is three blocks away from the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains. Prospect Park is located just five blocks away. The development will create housing and a recreational center made affordable for community residents. Also included will be low-cost space for local non-profits, and a new medical facility for uninsured citizens of the city. The NYC Economic Development Corporation is behind the applications.
