Astoria-based landlord John Ciafone is planning to construct a mixed-use development at 42-15 – 42-25 Queens Boulevard, in Sunnyside, according to DNAinfo. The site is located just three blocks from the 7 train’s stop at 40th Street. The project would include commercial and/or community space on the ground floor, and residential units above, some of which may be designated affordable. Existing single-story buildings must first be demolished; a pub as well as a cinema have already vacated their spaces.
Over the summer, YIMBY brought you news on the stalled-out mixed-use proposal by Kuafu Properties at 470 Eleventh Avenue, in Midtown West. Amid disputes over the property’s ownership, Blackhouse Development has proposed their own 740-foot-tall mixed-use building at the site, Curbed reports. Los Angeles-based M-Rad is designing, and although the rendering is conceptual, the project would feature 160 hotel suites and 15 condominiums. The initial project, dubbed Hudson Rise Hotel, was to rise 47 stories and contain 47 condominiums and a hotel.
Excavation kicked off this past summer for the 35-story, 270-unit mixed-use building planned at 44-26 Purves Street, in Long Island City, and now the structure is finally rising, with concrete and rebar now to the second floor, per The Court Square Blog. Brause Realty and the Gotham Organization are developing, while FXFOWLE is designing. The project will also have 2,600 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Completion is expected in late 2017, per on-site signage.
Last Spring, the New York Daily News brought us the first renderings of Triangle Assets’ 41-story, 44-unit residential building planned at 303 East 44th Street, in Midtown East. Now updated renderings have surfaced of the ODA Architecture-designed project. The tower will stand 600 feet in height and its residential units will measure from roughly 1,000 to 2,000 square feet. Units will also feature shared, but private, outdoor garden spaces. Completion is expected in 2017, according to The Real Deal.
Earlier this month, YIMBY brought you a construction update on the 11-story, 30-unit condominium project at 155 West 18th Street, in southern Chelsea, and now Curbed has the first full rendering of the project, as well as news that it has been dubbed The Flynn. As previously reported, the building is now topped-out and receiving its cladding. Completion is expected in mid-2016, and the sales launch is planned for this December. IGI-USA is the developer, and ODA-Architecture is designing.
