42-Story, 362-Unit Mixed-Use Tower Rising At 1 West End Avenue, Lincoln Square

Late last year, YIMBY revealed renderings of Silverstein Properties’ and Elad Group’s 42-story, 362-unit mixed-use building being developed at 1 West End Avenue, in Lincoln Square, and now the building is four stories above street level, courtesy of Tectonic, per Curbed. The building will feature retail space on the ground floor and a portion of the basement level, followed by 116 below-market rate apartments on the second through seventh floors. Up top, there will be 246 condominiums, with the first renderings surfacing for those back in June.


810 River Avenue

Reveal For 17-Story, 134-Unit Mixed-Use Building At 810 River Avenue, South Bronx

Renderings have surfaced for M. Melnick & Company’s planned 17-story, 134-unit mixed-use building at 810 River Avenue, in the Concourse, a block from the B, D and 4 trains’ stop at 161st Street/Yankee Stadium. Per Curbed, the building will measure 151,250 square feet in total, and will feature 24,560 and 1,680 square feet of retail and community space, respectively, across the first two stories. Apartments will average 933 square feet, and SLCE Architects is designing. Excavation work is currently underway.


80 Essex Street

Excavation Work Imminent At 80 Essex Street, Site of 24-Story, 195-Unit Mixed-Use Building On LES

At the beginning of the year, YIMBY revealed the first few buildings in the Essex Crossing development on the Lower East Side, including the 24-story, 195-unit mixed-use building planned at 115 Delancey Street/80 Essex Street. In the spring, demolition was underway to remove the old Essex Street Market building, and now excavation appears imminent, per Bowery Boogie. Handel Architects is designing, and a Regal movie theater, the Essex Street Market, and an urban farm will occupy the building’s base. Completion is expected in 2018.


422 Fulton Street

Tishman Acquires 11 Hoyt Street Site, Part of Macy’s 422 Fulton Street Building, Downtown Brooklyn

Macy’s is about to sell five stories of their nine-story building at 422 Fulton Street and the parking garage at 11 Hoyt Street (aka 217 Livingston Street) to Tishman Speyer for $170 million, according to Crain’s. Macy’s will consolidate commercial operations to 310,000 square feet, spanning the basement to the fourth floor, and Tishman will fund extensive renovations for those floor. As for the five upper floors Tishman is purchasing, those will be converted to office space and five more floors will be added up top. In the end, 10 stories of integrated office space is planned.


551 10th Avenue

52-Story, 600-Unit Residential Tower At 551 10th Avenue Gets Glassy, Midtown West

YIMBY last reported on Extell Development’s 52-story, 600-unit mixed-use building at 551 Tenth Avenue, in Midtown West, back in October of 2014, and now Curbed has the latest photos of the project, courtesy of Tectonic. The structure has risen significantly since last fall, and glass is now wrapping around on all sides. Twenty percent of the rental units will be leased at below-market rates, and a 300-bed dormitory will be housed in the building’s base. SLCE Architects is designing, and completion is expected in the summer of 2016.
