The rising skyscraper at 180 East 88th Street is nearing its full height. The tower now stands 27 stories above ground, four short of its eventual apex 31 floors above street level. Once complete, the building will be the tallest on the Upper East Side above 72nd Street. The neighborhood is finally getting a taste of the high-rise residential trend sweeping the rest of the Five Boroughs thanks to developer DDG.
Permits have been filed for a three-story residential building at 106-23 Guy R. Brewer Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens, a neighborhood that’s experiencing some major new development. The site is six blocks away from the Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer subway station, end of the line for E, J, and Z trains. Manuel Mayancela of J & D Carrying and Construction Corp is listed as responsible for the development.
An update is out for 259 Clinton Street, one of the skyscrapers planned to rise by One Manhattan Square. A Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) has been published, revealing fresh details of the three proposed Lower East Side towers that include 247 Cherry Street and 260 South Street, and a new rendering for 259 Clinton Street.
Permits have been filed for a four-story mixed-use building at 214 15th Avenue in the affluent Bay Terrace subsection of Bayside, Queens. A large parking lot-centric commercial center is just five blocks away, but the nearest public transit, the Queens Village train station serviced by the LIRR, is 7 miles away, or a 1-hour commute by bus. Dun Xing Zhang is listed as responsible for the development.
Construction has officially begun for the Lively, an 18-story mixed-use building at 321 Warren Street, Jersey City, New Jersey. The site is by the Hudson River waterfront, and just four blocks away from the Grove Street train station, first stop along the PATH trains in New Jersey. Fogarty Finger Architecture is responsible for the design.
