Scaffolding Comes Down on The Warehouse at 520 West 20th Street in Chelsea

Work is getting nearer to completion at The Warehouse, aka 520 West 20th Street, a mixed-use office development in West Chelsea. Located between West 19th and West 20th Street in close proximity to the High Line, the project is designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Elijah Equities. The 50-foot-tall brick section that makes up the bottom portion of the superstructure is finally being revealed with the disassembly of the white netting and scaffolding, while construction of the cantilevering steel structure that sits above it has topped out, bringing the total height to 105 feet tall.

Gensler Reveals Dramatic Penthouse Addition to Historic Chelsea Building at 695 Sixth Avenue

Located at 1761 Walton Avenue, the 14-story building will span approximately 102,500 square feet and rise from a vacant, L-shaped lot. Mount Hope Housing Company, a Bronx-based community development organization that rehabilitates and manages affordable housing, and Procida Companies, a local general contractor, have partnered on the development.

First Renderings Revealed for the Massive Two-Tower Development at 11 Lawton Street in New Rochelle

The first renderings have been released for a two-tower, mixed-use development at 11 Lawton Street in New Rochelle. YIMBY reported the permit filing in June for what will be the city’s first skyscraper. This project includes a 605-foot-tall, 48-story tower with approximately 600 residential units split between rentals and condominiums and a secondary 23-story tower that will contain a 190-room hotel.

NYU’s 750,000-Square Foot Expansion at 181 Mercer Street Rises Above Street Level in Greenwich Village

The steel superstructure of 181 Mercer Street is now several floors above street level in Greenwich Village. The massive, 1.9-million-square-foot expansion of the NYU campus is located along Houston Street, directly to the east of I. M. Pei’s University Village complex. The 23-story project is designed by Davis Brody Bond along with KieranTimberlake.

Bronx Pro Group and Curtis + Ginsberg Architects have partnered on an eight-story, mixed-use development at 4697 Third Avenue in Fordham, The Bronx. The affordable housing development, which will contain both residential and retail components, will join a number of other projects the two firms have collaborated on in underrepresented neighborhoods of the borough in 2019.
