Seven-Story, 150-Unit Mixed-Use Project At 315 South Harrison Street Lands Financing, East Orange

Newark, New Jersey-based Blackstone 360 has secured $43.5 million in financing for their planned seven-story, 105-unit mixed-use project at 315 South Harrison Street, in East Orange, New Jersey. The building will be rentals and includes 30,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. Unfortunately, the structure will take on a tower-in-the-park configuration, per renderings by the developer. According to Real Estate Weekly, the financing will also be used to purchase Indigo 141, a 12-story, 105-unit apartment building a few blocks away at 141 South Harrison.

32-story, 384-Unit Mixed-Use Project Rises To 24th Floor At 286 Ashland Place, DoBro

YIMBY brought you a construction update two months ago on the 32-story, 384-unit mixed-use building going up at 286 Ashland Place, in Downtown Brooklyn, which stood just 12 stories tall at the time. Since then, the structure has doubled to 24 stories, courtesy of a YIMBY reader’s photo, and façade installation has also begun. As previously reported, the building will will include significant retail and community spaces, and 20% of the units will be set aside as affordable. Two Trees is developing, TEN Arquitectos is designing, and completion is expected in August of 2016.

Mixed-Use Development Planned At 42-25 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside

Astoria-based landlord John Ciafone is planning to construct a mixed-use development at 42-15 – 42-25 Queens Boulevard, in Sunnyside, according to DNAinfo. The site is located just three blocks from the 7 train’s stop at 40th Street. The project would include commercial and/or community space on the ground floor, and residential units above, some of which may be designated affordable. Existing single-story buildings must first be demolished; a pub as well as a cinema have already vacated their spaces.

Blackhouse Proposes 740-Foot Tall Mixed-Use Tower At 470 Eleventh Avenue Amid Ownership Disputes

Over the summer, YIMBY brought you news on the stalled-out mixed-use proposal by Kuafu Properties at 470 Eleventh Avenue, in Midtown West. Amid disputes over the property’s ownership, Blackhouse Development has proposed their own 740-foot-tall mixed-use building at the site, Curbed reports. Los Angeles-based M-Rad is designing, and although the rendering is conceptual, the project would feature 160 hotel suites and 15 condominiums. The initial project, dubbed Hudson Rise Hotel, was to rise 47 stories and contain 47 condominiums and a hotel.

35-Story, 270-Unit Residential Tower Rises At 44-26 Purves Street, Long Island City

Excavation kicked off this past summer for the 35-story, 270-unit mixed-use building planned at 44-26 Purves Street, in Long Island City, and now the structure is finally rising, with concrete and rebar now to the second floor, per The Court Square Blog. Brause Realty and the Gotham Organization are developing, while FXFOWLE is designing. The project will also have 2,600 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Completion is expected in late 2017, per on-site signage.
