5Pointz Site’s Residential Towers Nearly Complete at 22-44 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City

A new pair of residential towers at 22-44 Jackson Avenue is rising from the former home of the colorfully eye-catching street art space, 5Pointz warehouse. The buildings are topped out over Long Island City, Queens and are making their mark on the neighborhood’s growing skyline. The elevated 7 train curves around the construction site toward the Court Square station, just across the street from the massive 1,115-unit development. The complex is being designed by HTO Architects while G&M Realty is the developer. Mojo Stumer Associates is in charge of the interior design, which will feature a 5Pointz homage, a graffiti-style logo, and similar artwork around the interiors.

408 Adams Street recently topped out in Hoboken, New Jersey. The upcoming two-family residential project now stands 40 feet tall and is designed by Nastasi Architects while 408 Adams, LLC is the developer. The site is located between Fourth Street and Fifth Street in the center of the city. A three-story low-rise building once stood on the property and has been demolished to make way for the new five-story structure.

City Announces Modular Affordable Housing Development at 581 Grant Avenue in East New York

The Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has announced plans to build a 167-unit modular housing block in East New York, Brooklyn. From Think! Architecture and Design, the building includes a mix of studios, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units. In addition to a large community area, there will also be a new medical clinic and supportive services for homeless New Yorkers.
