Guy Iber, doing business as an anonymous Brooklyn-based LLC, has filed applications for four three-story, three-family residential buildings at 188-21 – 188-27 Woodhull Avenue, in Hollis, located three blocks from the neighborhood’s Long Island Rail Road station. Each structure will measure 5,207 square feet, although the residential space across the entire development will add up to 15,624 square feet. That means full-floor units will average a family-sized 1,302 square feet apiece. Akeeb Shekoni’s Queens-based Askon Architects is the architect of record. Permits were filed last September to demolished the existing two-and-a-half-story house.
Property owner Tahira Chaudhry has filed applications for a five-story, six-unit mixed-use building at 1138 Manhattan Avenue, in northern Greenpoint, located at the corner of Box Street. It will encompass 9,648 square feet and will feature 1,180 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Residential units will begin on the second floor and should average 995 square feet apiece. There will be two units per floor on floors two and three, another unit on part of the fourth floor, and a duplex units on the rest of the fourth floor and the entire fifth floor. Fresh Meadows-based Jamil Coppin is the architect of record. An existing three-story townhouse must first be demolished.
After a little over a month and a few tweaks, the expansion of a former mansion in Brooklyn got the go-ahead from the Landmarks Preservation Commission on Tuesday. The property in question is 105 8th Avenue, between President Street and Carroll Street in the Park Slope Historic District.
During a raucous and packed public meeting on Tuesday night, developer Avery Hall Investments laid out their plans for a seven-story apartment building with retail and a grocery store, which will replace a Key Food at 120 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope.
Mayer Pearl, doing business as Apta Valley LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, seven-unit residential building at 253 Evergreen Avenue, in central Bushwick, located three blocks from stops on either the J or M trains. The structure, which will measure 5,787 square feet in total, will rise on a vacant 25-foot-wide lot. There will be one unit on the ground floor, and two on each of the remaining floors. One unit on the fourth floor will feature a fifth-floor penthouse. The rental project is being designing by Michael Avramides Architects.
